We live in VoD. That's why. hehe.

I think the terrain N line, and the steady Aim line are both very cool. We've been thinking on the 1213 SL.

Getting rid of sl bots is a great idea. Forcing them to get a TEF for using abilities is not, nor requiring overt status. Not all sl's are factioned, nor she they be required to be, ever.

SL bots are cheap. I don't like being in a group with them. I did once with a RAID in Theed and I myself was an SL but they wanted to use a bot. It was good bonus and all but so cheap... I felt like an dirty IMP.

I would only use a macro for SL to do /ui action clearcombat so that you don't have to wait for it to happen.

Buff bots aren't cheap. They're simply a better alternative. Especially since considering Squad Leader is no where near worth the points putting in to it. Until the profession is fixed, there's little else to hope for.

Whats retarded about a range is that I cant use retreat. I have my character out in the feild having people going after Jedis that run and other normal runners. If There is a cap on the range Then Its useless I sit out there overt with my mind taking the beating of its life making people run in my full composite I want them to go no matter where I am. If Im taking 1500 a shot mind I better be able to keep them going.

If your taking 1500 out of mind a retreat, theres something wrong. Get buffed, ahrisa, brandy, maxed out mind stats. You should have no problem then and should be able to spam retreat and have a always burst macro going.

i was honestly suprised they didn't have a range limit on the squad leader's abilities (i just made squad leader).


[256m,512m, or at max 1024m] infact maybe range can be incorporated into the tree..


if you think about it a squad leader isn't someone who sits on the back lines directing the battle (that is more of a general's [etc..] responsibility)


a squad leader IMHO, is suppose to be out there on the front lines with his Squad.


for the squad leader revamp i would hope they keep this idea in mind..

Aside from implementing a maximum range at which the commands work, perhaps it would be a better solution to put a delay on how often the 'spammed' commands work. This is a common solution used for abilities that could've been spammed in an abusive manner, such as KD, Posture Down, and delays, and it would make a bot far less valuable than a real squad leader.

If retreat only worked once every two minutes (not the delay on using it, but a timer preventing a player from receiving the boost more often than that), then a squad leader that's following the battle would have to time the retreats to give their squad the greatest possible advantage; a bot would just give them boosts in set intervals, regardless of whether or not they're useful. Things like form-up and steady aim could be reduced to every 10 or 15 seconds, so that they're more useful with someone watching the battle than with a bot using them at fixed intervals. While making us marginally less effective, it would give the real squad leaders a large advantage over their bot-counterparts because we'd be capable of using them at appropriate times. Furthermore, it would help to reduce the trend towards spamming commands so frequently that it's impossible to talk to anyone in spatial.
