single target buffs = 10 mins

group = 30 mins

I still am concerned that a SL is not a Leader anymore though. I really think they need to leave Sl as a skill that works only if a SL is a group leader and if you allow other SLs on the team that they give moderate levels of buff vs the full buff of the leader. the Group actions need to only be applied by the leader as onyl 1 at a time can be active and if multiple SLs are giving commands this will get messy - To many chefs spoil the broth....

But on a more sour note. Does anyone else wish they'd lock anyone new from joining our profession?
It just feels not fair that people can just join the prof and grind it now that it's gonna be good, which will leave us SL's who've waited years for this and patiently stood by the profession through al the brokenness in the dust of the mad SL rush,b being forced to answer all the newbie SL questions.
/sigh
I don't mind the love, but I do hate that we'll end up being the new profession that everyone rushes to(like BH's during the respec period, being mobbed by newbie m-bh's,or in our case m-sl's, with questions that anyone with the Master Title should know).

Change it back to SL's MUST be the group leader and I think this revamp will be just about perfect. They need to add GTN back though.

While I appreciate the work put into the SL adjustments, I can't help but wonder if the devs read any of the ideas we put forward on what a SL is and should be able to do.

Our main focus is leading

and yet now...we don't even have to be a leader? The group can be lead by a dancer and we are still going to be shouting commands and they are supposed to listen to us?

Innate abilities

We as leaders should instill certain "motivation" in a group that just comes naturally, and requires no extra effort on our part as the group works to do their best to acheive above the meansof a single person. It is a reflection of how a group always works harder to do what is needed than when they are alone.

Multiple SLs in the group.

Too many cooks in the kitchen comes to mind. There should be a negative effect the more SLs there are, not a benefit. SLs should be encouraged to form up groups and lead groups, not encouraged to group up with other SLs to form some uber buff group.

The many commands

I thyink it would be better to move the use of commands back to one SL in the group how is leader, and give them the ability to aply more than 1 of the buffs...perhaps the ability to apply 2 or 3...no more than that though. I could agree with a 2nd command spot possibly..where the number 8 spot of a group..if filled by a MSL could be an "Aid" to the leader and do single player buffs (not group). Where as teh leader motivates the group and can motivate individuals, the 2nd in command could motivate individuals. This 2nd in command could also assume leader of the group should the leader be slain, then being able to do all that a SL leader is able to do...the slain SL would then fall into the 8 spot.

just some thoguhts....I am sure to have more after I get on TC and get it ago...maybe some opinions will change...so Ill leave this as an open post to edit as needed.

Being the leader of a group DOES NOT EQUAL being the Group leader. Forcing a Squad Leader to bea Groupleader of a group is a limitation, not a perk, bro/sis.

In combat, the most important jobs include calling targets, which no one can do better unless you have a voicechat program, and coordinating your positions/movements/resources to be most effective in combat, which a SL has consummate abilities to enhance these decisions, i.e. movement increases, defensive/offensive buffs, damage multipliers, etc.

Again, FORCING a SL to be theGroup leaderis a pain-in-the-ass limitation, NOT something appropriate.

Group leaders just add/drop members and assign loot settings.

Squad leaders do an entirely different function.

Forcing Squad leaders to be Group leaders is rediculous.

Jeez..I don't get guys like you. How's that going to affect the way you play. Don't give an attitude of, 'Wah wah wah. I was here first! It's my profession. No one else can get it. It's not fair. I sat in a borked profession forever. It should only be me! I'm special.' If you don't like the feeling of being in a 'normal' profession, where people actually play it because it works, move on to being a ranger. Then you can get back that special feeling you had once before. Now, I don't think you will get an influx like bh did. Most people when they came to the game wanted to be a bh or a jedi. Noone went BH except the most 'hardy' pre-curb because it had the longest grind out of all the normal proffs. And you lot know the rest of the story, /respec, money, loot etc...

/rantoff

Anyway, congrats on getting an overhaul. I'm a ranger, hopefully we'll be getting some attention soon. My other toon used to be a smuggler but gave it up to become a cm/rifleman so i know what its like to be in an ignored profession. Also, I was a bh pre-curb.

Holy Mos Eisley Batman! I am looking forward to being an SL now! I do however share the concern about SLs not needing to be the group leader to apply buffs. I am also concerned about possible stacking, but I'll discuss taht later.

Squald Leaders should do just that... LEAD SQUADS!!

I despise the idea of having more then one SL in a group at any one time and both being able to buff the group. We will become what docs were Pre-CU, buff bots.

I am all for making a SL lead a group for the buffs to work, mabey even allowing 2 buffs at a time if this is what the devs intended for more then one in a group. I saw that our passive buffs were gone, I was wondering wth happended, have that group terrain neg was a huge bonus for my squad since more often that not, they didnt have any scout.

Lets hope devs work with us on this and not make us a cookiee cutter profession.
