Thread: A solution to the new 8 max player group.

It is completly legit to use the PlanetSide grouping system since there both SOE products, or managments. In that it's as you said a platoon. The diffrence are you can have 3 leaders than band together to form a 30 man group if I remember it from my old days correctly.Then you have the Platoon leader who controls it all. Now if they allowed that I would have to think the Platoon leader would be the only one with SL bonuses, but 90 group melee defence *Drools* Everybody is a stacker . . . .

I love the platoon idea


I'd also add that bonuses should be applied to platoons consisting of the same professions - ie 8 Riflemen all equiping Rifles, should rcieve additionaldamage or accuracy bonuses, and so on for each combat speciality.


Why?



a) This would encourage platooning


b) The bonuseswould encourage tactical thinking, ie a platoon of Riflemen adopting defensive positions should be a formidable opponent, even if outnumbered. It would benefit the organised, structured approach over the random, chaotic mobs that seem to be the current assault squads.

As cool an idea as it would be to add further bonuses I belive this could be unbalancing, but you never know .

i'm not a SL but i like to see every profession have a usefulness in groups. i to like this idea. and if not this then just make it so SL increases the cap on how many people can be in a group. and rise as you get skills in SL.

but i like this better since it will keep the group window small and easier tio heal people that needs to get healed. it makes it easier on the doc that would be in the group.

I really am wondering about the size of groups again

the party barge is 10 person but with a max group of 8 your parties are smaller

and the mining ship was advertised as a 20 man ship... what happened to that?

Well regardless of what the official number on the group size will be SLs should still have the "raid" party ability. If things change i'll tweak the idea again .

Perhaps they temperarly lowered for testing, since it would make sure that the combat was being tested and not huge twenty player groups going on and testing things they're not suppose to. I mean the 20 player group is one the distinguishing features about SWG.
