Squad Leader Archive
Thread: Squad Leader can control color of sys messages with no ui changes by group members. Here is how.
It prints that out exactly.. it doesn't do color, but it actually types out \#ff0000\
Do you have to do an alias to make it work?
Thanks for this info.
I was trying to figure it out, but couldn't.
This acutally makes /sys worthwhile ![]()
It's not a problem with the UK version. you are experiencing exactly the same thing we are, but a lot of ppl don't understand it.
When you type the first '\' you won't see it appear on the screen. Continue typing '#ff0000'. These will not appear on you screen either. After the second '\', continue to type and your text will be red.
The '\' doesn't show up because its part of a system command to change the color, not part of your text for the /sysgroup msg.
Thx, to the originator of this post, I've been trying combinations of this for a week. I didn't know that I needed the '\' and your help is greatly appreciated.
I would like to know if there is a way to use this /rr command like we use the reply command
If u just press "r" automaticaly "/reply" is typed in ur inlet field chat
I would like to press like "u" and then /rr is typed in the inlet field
There is a way to do this?
Ok here goes..
I dont really mess around with the alias feature much, however, i did make an ingame macro that runs rather easily..
now, you need to just type the \ just once, as previously posted, and then type out the #ff0000 followed by another \
then you just add your text to the rest of the /sysgroup tell.. it takes about 6 minutes or so to feel comfortable with what your doing by just playing around with it..
here's a good website with a ton of different hex codes to fool around with..

Have fun fellow Squad Leaders! we really gotta stick together!

nope \ does not work for me still thats with me trying to hit \ once typying the hex code then hitting it again (ignore the fact it doesnt show up but the hex code does) - i get a message with hex code and no \.
Tried multiple variations like hitting \ twice when typing - no effect im still convinced it's Keyboard orientated problem ![]()
This page explains the color system nicely.... Thanks for the tip man, that rox.
