I'd probably give up SL, but when I see those Master level defense bonuses and how pathetic the Master defense bonuses on Carbineer are, I just can't justify to myself throwing away the benefits.

I completely agree about people skills. Squad Leaders are probably more dependent on the ability to interact with other people moreso than a great Entertainer/Dancer/Musician.
