Thread: Replace Mobility Tree with a Weapon Tree

We don't need new weapons, we need to be able to make the ppl holding weapons more effective with them. In the Correspondant-started thread about Mobility branch, someone brought up the use of formations. I think adding this to the branch, and keeping the only known useful abilities I have, would be the best rework. If a rework is needed at all. Let's not forget what happened the lasttime the devs decided to rework us.:-)

The nature of our weapon would require groups to use heh... And I guess it doesn't really matter




But how about a Dammage Multiplier.... Everyone in a Master Squad Leader group is capable of 3x more dammage

I would just like to comment... SL is not the only combat profession without its own weapon. Rangers have no weapon eather. Just a thought. We have been campaining for one just as hard. no results.

You have Traps. That counts as a weapon in my book, although not very good ones.

And I don't consider "Ranger" a "combat class" since you have no requirements from the Brawler or MArksman trees. SL requires one of the most annoying trees, Ranged Support (based totally on Combat XP). You're requirements are harvesting corpses, sneaking past animals, building camps, and throwing traps.

Not a flame, just my $0.02.

(Can we please keep the "Army Ranger" comparisons out of here? Just a request...)

Note Army rangers were Marksman First.... Period.

I really don't want a tree to be dedicated to a specific weapon for SL. If I wan't to be good at using a weapon, then I become a commando, or what ever. The Squad Leader, shouldn't even have to need to have a weapon to lead the squad. Some SLs might wan't to be Medics or something else that could be usefull in the group. Please let the treesstay as group bonuses and commands helping and commanding the group, and not be another Ranged proffession.





/Give me a armorsmith crafted 60% overall Stormtrooper Armor with no chance to slice it, but reasonably low encumberance. Let the deed be bought from the recruiter by FPs. Also remove TEF.

How about Specials that the group can use only when grouped with a Squad Leader?



Those were suggested a while back, Specials that we allow others to use...



Like Covering Fire : Select Friendly Target, use covering fire, you attack all of his targets, and draw their Attacks to YOU, giving your friendly target a moment to recover.



Or Dig In: a Large Deffense bonus and Lower Posture to Kneeling, Dig In twice and go to prone with Twice the Protection... This will also give a .5 dammage multiplier to ALL specials done by you... .5 per Dig In... Wears off upon movement.



And your Squad Can use these abilities whenever they feel it neccesary... HAM Costs will vary based on how much far in the tree you are..



Etc etc etc.
