Thread: Who do YOU want to be the new correspondent?
In my ever optomistic state, I choose to believe that the DEVs will consider our oppinion when the select a new correspondent.
While I know no one will be able to hold a candle to Capitain Vem, who do you think is the most qualified for the job?
Who is always ready to help out someone with a question? Who is always ready with a fix to one of our many large problems? Who, from our pleasent little community, would you like to see as our next correspondent?

If the biggest issue at hand was how Correspondents are treated you would be correct. However this is not so. The biggest issue at hand is how the Squad Leader Profession has been treated, and we do no service to our cause to simply not have a voice.
I was just looking through some of the REALLY old posts and the arguments that popped up when Vem was originally given the post... Vem himself pointed out that Correspondent is not about who is the best leader for the profession or about who knows the most or whatever... The correspondent is simply the VOICE of the community. It would be possible to be theCorrespondent for a profession without even being in that profession if you think about it. In fact, I believe one or two of the correspondents have quit their respective profs to follow holocrons...and still manage to do a decent enough job communicating on behalf of their community.
It doesn't as much matter who is picked as Correspondent as long as it's someone who can communicate effectively on our behalf. In any case, I intend to follow Vem's lead and be available to discuss my qualifications and hear your concerns and ideas as much as possible.
In fact, I would like to encourage everyone to discontinue arguing these topics here. They really aren't "on topic" and are likely to be locked or deleted anyway. Let's work on keeping the productive discussions at the top of our forum. If you have any issue with me, please utilize my "open PM" policy and talk to me. I've already begun looking for Squad Leaders on my server and asking them to add me to their friendlist and be in contact with me so that I can have the largest pool of feedback possible.
I don't wish to censor anyone, and please believe me when I say that I'm just as frustrated with the lack of progress on our profession as anyone here. I'm now advocating, however, that we keep our priorities clearly in mind, and my priority is to get Squad Leader some of the "Dev Love" we've all been waiting for.
If you feel the need to gripe, lets try to limit it to a single thread (the petition thread is good for that) and keep the clear and presentable issues at the top!
We need a correspondent who doesn't have their own idea of what a Squead Leader should be able to do.
We need a correspondent who takes the communities ideas and summarizes them and passes them along to the Devs. Someone who can organize all our ideas, and lead us to make a group decision. Who that is? Well I don't know,alot of the postsI've seen have been someone promoting their own ideas, and not trying to get a consensus of what the community wants. The correspondant really should make a list and have everyone vote for their top10 problems ,and their top10additions they would like to see. That just requires someone with good organizational skills, not someone who is the most vocal.

TH wont like me after 3 days.
SOE will send a contract killer after me in 1 day.
My account would be cancled in 1/2 hour.
Those are my predictions if I was given the job of Correspondebt.

I agree with Vem that dilune and omegusneo are both prime candidates though.
I have seen this happen already.
Thunderheart is looking for someone to fall into his correspondent 'model.' Vemnox did not do that and was brushed off. Thunderheart walked into his position, formulated his plan and is implementing it. Anyone who is not in line will be trampled like you-know-who. In the Rifleman forum, he picked a guy who had less than 17 posts in the forum and who 100% of the community had never heard of before after someone posted a thread exactly like this.
I have no problem with the above individual. 
I am just trying to illustrate a point. Our voices have absolutely no value in the selection of the Squad Leader correspondent in Thunderheart's eyes.
He has a plan in motion and will select the individual who seems to present the least resistance to that plan. His job is at stake.
