Ok here's an idea. I have't tried it but hey it might just work. If you are a solo Squad Leader and you want your group bonus's, maybe you could get a few skills from the Creature Handler line. There is a command that causes your pet to group with you. I wonder if this works? Anybody tried?

Hmm droids group with you too. Anybody confirm that the SL bonus's work grouped with a droid?

Yes droids and pets both work for SL xp. I have a probot and a cu pa I use to stand around while I kill feral banthas. Very nice xp if you can't find a group on Lok or Endor.

I wonder if the developers had intended for this to be an option for Squad Leaders; something tells me that this was unintentional and will most likely be patched in the near future.

"Leading" a pet is no comparison to the experience (both for your character and yourself) when you lead actual players, and so it is of my opinion that a SL should only get experience when another player is grouped.

I realize that forming groups can be an enduring process (especially if you haven't made group friends prior to hitting SL), but it is through this experience that forces the player to develop methods of grouping which will prove to beinvaluable in the future. Opting to solo should never be considered or allowed when it comes to gaining SL experience.

Squad leaders, by just the very name, are not a solo class. If one wants the ability to solo then a SL is definately the wrong way to go; and the game mechanics should (and more than likely will) reflect this.

Sorry but I disagree. If you take away the CH's ability to group pets and the DE's ability to have the droid group then you hurt that class. I see no exploit involved because you might not be able to find a group at all times. This at least allows you to earn squad leader xp if you play at odd hours. Why reduce the class to going around begging for a group? I certainly don't want to go there. If I want to group with my Ares Mark IIIc probot and go kill MOBs for minimum squad leader xp then I should be able to. Now if I could get 20 pets/droids in a group and earn tons of squadleader xp then, "Yes" it would need to be fixed. ATM the most you could have in your group would be 5. 3 for master CH and 1 droid + yourself.

The best xp will always be in a large group fighting on Lok or Endor etc. Don't ask for a nerf that will make the Squad leader into a begging class.

I have been able to get faction pets to group with me, but I do not know how to get droids to group. Anyone know how?

I still stand by my opinion that a SL should not get SL experience if they are not grouped with another player. You get no real "squad leading" experience by leading an NPC around; and you have to keep in mind that the SL is a support class and not meant for soloing.

Squad leaders shouldn't get experience for grouping with their pets/droids? .. As if they didn't have enough hoops to jump through for so little gain

If you can rally pets and droids....

If a pet or droids movement is enhanced by you....

If a pet or droid has their attacks and defenses enhanced by you....

If you can call targets and volley shots with your pet or droid......

Then you certainly should gain SL experience.

I don't like the idea of people being able to solo their way to Master Squad Leader...

I don't like the idea of people who've solo'd to Master Squad Leader then trying to lead groups....

And those groups thinking this guy knows what he's doing...

But he's just another clueless soloer...

I like the idea I can gain exp with pets, it's already slow enough, why not let us solo a bit? A grouping squad leader will still get xp faster. I don't like grouping 24/7 when i'm hunting, I like to solo from time to time and I don't like seeing my advancing stop.

Why shouldn't we gain exp with pets of some sort? We are leading them just the same as other characters.
