Well doing it the other way made it more like West Side story. And while I did appreciate the long musical numbers and the timeless coming of age story of two lovers, I felt that the gang violence between Jedi defense squads and BH gank squads(often with a jedi of the other faction) somewhat betrayed not only the vision of Jedi per George Lucas, but also the sense of quality gameplay SOE was striving for.

Greetings all.


I just ran into the issue of a SL being able to keep states off of a Jedi during a hunt last night. I wanted to know if anyone had grouped with a BH to see if this worked on our end of the scrap as well.


Has anyone given this a try?


Any info would be appreciated!

I have grouped with my guildee who is a BH to do some jedi hunting and i'll use form up a lot. That is until my spam gets noticed and then the dark jedi destroy me.

The BH/Jedi combat system is supposed to work independantly from eveything else. No medics or SLs are supposed to be able to help either side... Unless a member of the BH team is part Squad Leader and has the mission.

It's still a buggy system that needs a bunch of work.

*nod* I agree. I was just curious if anyone had tried this post TEF removal.


Found out the hard way that it works for Jedi.

This is one of the things that was supposed to be changed but wasn't. Hopefully we'll get a patch for this soon. They are so generous with their patches this year...

As long as they manage to patch the issue without nerfing Squad Leaders in the process.


Having felt the brutality of the nerf-bat (BH since launch), I don't wish crappy corner-cutting on anyone.


Even Jedi.

The BH/Jedi system needs a lot of work anyway.

Removing SL from the equation wouldn't end up nerfing us as all. The main problem that needs to be addressed is the number of BH that are able to go up against a single Jedi. If you think about it... if you have a SL with at least 3000 BH, they should be able to get the Jedi Mission and provide benefits to the other BHs who have the mission as well. But is that too much of an advantage for a group of BHs?

Its something thats going to have to be addressed.

It seems in the sense of fairness that if the BH group can have an SL (albeit a BH 3000), then the jedi should benefit from having an SL group leader as well.

I want a player driven, crafting-based economy.

Not exactly.

The BH/Jedi TEF is supposed to prevent Jedi Protection Squads and BH Gank Squads. The 5 BH vs 1 Jedi is a different issue altogether.

There is also a bug where other Jedi are able to heal the Jedi in the BH/Jedi TEF. The system is far from perfect with some pretty big holes. All I can ask from you guys is to send in those bug reports.

It does, but the XP benefits is so small it is like grinding swordsman with a heavy axe.

So, Irott, you are telling me that it's good that 5 BHs, one of whom is an SL, should get the advantage of having an SL in their 5 man gank squad, but that a jedi grouped with an SL should not?
