I could not put myself through an uncertain future any longer. My faith in the devs has long been shattered, and at this point our "upcoming" revamp is just a dangling carrot somewhere on the horizon to me.

Tonight I did what I thought I would never do, I dropped smuggler. As of this writing I still have Dirty Fighting 3, but after my next session tonight after work there will not be one box of smuggler left in my template I've been a Master Smuggler since around Oct/Nov of last year and even though I eventually found it necessary to hide my precious title, I was damn proud of it every day. I gave a crap load of AUK crates to a friend and fellow smuggler, and we gave each other one last secret smugglers handshake. I also had a dream slicing gig that took me from about 350k credits in Feb, to an 8 digit account not long after. I walked away from this gig tonight. You couldn't ask for a better smith to work for, he'd just put some stuff in the "slicing house", send a mail to me, I'd come in from work, find the mail, go slice, and he'd pay me handsomely when he logged on the next day. He answered all of my stupid questions, explained how armour was made, gave me free gear sometimes, and I think I got a friend out of the deal too Lately I'd started working on upping my rank in the Empire(captain) to get ready for the possible faction selling explosion that may come when JTL launches. Smuggler was one of the few things in this game I had always considered doing. It wasn't my first choice(though I wanted to be a slicer as soon as that was announced as a skill in the game), but it was close. The game had been out around a month when I decided to go smuggler, it took a few long months but it was quite a trip. I still have the waypoint in my datapad marking the hillside on the outskirts of Bestine where I became a Master Smuggler.

So what the heck am I doing dropping smuggler you might ask? Well there was another profession that was about fourth or fifth on my list since I first started following this game years ago. It, like smuggler,also attracts a portion of the more role play oriented crowd compared to most professions. I had been reading on their forum a lot lately, and even though they are sufferers of bugs and the nerf bat(who isn't), they can actually do what their title implies...bounty hunt. Before I dropped smuggler some hours ago, as I was standing there with my friend It's-slim, I thought about showing my most prized posession one last time before it went away, my Master Smuggler title. But I couldn't bring myself to do it. I said to myself that the next time I would see that title over my head would be when I returned to my true love, some months from now. My thoughts are to do the balsted Force hooey, unlock a second slot and make him a smuggler. Or even better, make him a bounty hunter and return Bossov to his true profession, a sexy Bothan smuggler So today I have mixed feelings. I'm excited and scared, eager and yet depressed. The only other master profession I've ever dropped was master artisan on my second account. The elite professions I've masterd I have put a lot of thought into and kept until now. Smuggler is gone, and now most likely Teras Kasi will go, possibley even master pistoleer. Yes, I will probably be a Jedi's dream, a ranged bounty hunter. Well this post turned out longer than I had intended, but it is a monumental event in my Galaxies career. I had to express my feelings, both bad and good, in the place I will always call home, the Smuggler forum.

Dont do bounty hunter, Ive been a MBH since september 3rd of 2003 on scylla server, I no longer list his name here do to the fact that I havent played him since all the bugged jedi missions. Now that jedi are so uber I fail to see a reason to even play him at all. Smuggler may be broken, but my guild needs me and I still find it fun. Good luck with BH, with the weapon delay u will get very frustrated.

If you're big into role playing, go Ranger. That's a fun one there. Sad though when someone gives up their favorite profession, because they've lost hope in our anticipated revamp. Good luck w/ BH though. I found itfun, but kind of boring after a while. Oh well, that was before Jedi, so I'm sure its better now.
