Pretty much the same situation for me -- except I couldn't bear giving up Smuggler. I told my fingers to click surrender and type in yes, but they just wouldn't do it. I know exactly where you're coming from though. So many broken promises and waiting for a revamp to be able to do what we should be able to do in namesake. Very frustrating and saddening.
I've decided to keep Master Smuggler. I still have fun with it, but I've dropped the Master Swordman/Brawler I had with it and I've started to add Bounty Hunter 4-0-4-0. I'm bitter enough to try to have my cake and eat it to and hopefully be able to kill some blasted Jedi. They get all the attention when we're left with nothing!
Eek! I feel like a middle child! Poor poor neglected middle children. And your birthday is 4 days before Christmas so you get "combined" presents all the time

You had a job that all Master Smugglers dream about.. A solid exclusive slicing job with no baloney and no extensive traveling or waiting for a "lagging" customer to "accept" the trade ect. I've been a Master Smuggler on Flurry for some time now and i've heard your name from some of the highest weaponsmiths and armorsmiths. I'm sorry you had to give it up, and I feel your pain with having to hide that "Master Smuggler" tag as well... On Flurry lets face it... There's just not many TRUE Master Smugglers. I /salute you and hope that you return. Oh and 2 of my guildies are/were MBH's and dropped it so quick their tags weren't even warm yet after PUB 9. I too keep myself busy slicing armor and weapons for my guild... And no matter how boring it seems to get I don't get "bored"
Wish you best of luck.... Come back soon.

ya know, some of us just can't win...
After several months of slicing, Ihappened to meet and becomegood friends with an Armorsmith who wanted to use me as her exclusive slicer. I was flattered, and did two preliminary slicing jobs for her for which she paid me very very good money. She had vendors in one of the most popular malls, and all seemed well in the galaxy. However, after not hearing from her for a while, I went checking and found her vendors were gone and her house was closed up. She had disappeared from the game without a word.
*sigh*

That's a bummer - I had the same thing happen with a Merchant partner on Bria who made me a millionaire selling my spices.
I, too, have had to drop Master Smuggler for the time being. Like Bounty Hunter, I know that this is just a temporary change. I came to realize that for a neutral character, master smuggler is like spending 43 points on Slicing. No one really buys spice anymore and it's hard to sell it at a markup. The entire Underworld tree is useless for neutrals, and the only useful tree for fighting is Rogue. Still, it was a hard decision. I like the flavor and style of this profession, even if we are borked and ignored by the Devs. So I'm working towards TKM/Master Pistoleer/Rogue/4-3-0-0 Fencer (or maybe Dirty Fighting 3 and 4-4-0-0 Fencer).
I'm not too worried, I managed to Master Smuggler in less than two days so it shouldn't be too hard to get back to Master if and when they finally revamp the prof.

I understand your pain, my friend. Just can't do it myself though. I hardly ever slice anymore (except my own gear) and I only make spices for myself.
But, I'm looking forward to the day in the not-too-distant future when I can realize the dream of being a smuggler with his own ship.
I admit it, I'm a Han Solo wannabie, and have been since 1977.

You're always welcome around these parts, no matter what your profession is.
