Thread: Master Smuggler & Master TKA?

As the Profession has Unarmed bonuses... just no moves.. Is TKA as Companion useful?


Anyone Experience with the TKA/Smuggler Combo?

Unamred for smuggler is by far the strangest pre-req I've seen for any profession.... (that makes sense, unarmed is a good choice for TKA, lol)


As for teh mods... Smuggler offers unarmed bonuses but TKA doesn't offer smuggler bonuses... but you do get the innate armor, which might save you some cash on armor, but uses dem skill points for other pistol skills. This means you'll be average in both fields, not as good with a pistol as a pistoleer/BH and not as good unarmed a a melee stacker (TKA/pike/swords/fencer, pick a combo)


I've never tried it, but my template doesn't need any tanking abilities

i had that template, i love the idea, but in this game it just doesnt work well....i switched to master smuggler/master pistoleer/master marksman..

hmm yes i know a pure Ranged or Melee Template is better, but i thought about a Smuggler not using


Standard Pistol. Smuggler still has Unarmed4 as Prerequisite, and those Unarmed Bonuses....


WHY?`


I would understand, if Smuggler was not nailed to Using a Ranged Weapon for Crowd Control.


What about some Melee Skills doing the same, as the Ranged Skills?


Or Is the Melee Component is a Smuggler just dead weight?

I'm a Teras Kasi Master, Master Smuggler, and I've been one almost since I've started playing. I was Triple Threat pre-cu, but I'm too stubborn to drop either now, I like them so much.

I can tell you right now it's not fotm though, and you have to really know what you're doing for it to be viable in pvp.

I like it in pve though, with the tanking ability of the Teras Kasi, and the states of the Smuggler, I can do fairly well.

There are better combos out there, it's not the best Smuggler template. Of course, I guess 'best' is what you do with it.

I use this build as well. Although not the best of builds, because using a ranged weapon will negate your Center of Being skill, I do very well with it in PvE and PvP. I must say though that if you go in either direction fora Melee or Ranged build will be better then this mixed build.

Witch in turn is Affirmed as dumb... and Triple Mastry Isnt any more.. Sadly...

I picked Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer and a little Commando because they all have general ranged defenses adn with the Smuggler/Pistoleer my pistol stats are insane

So it's all based on your point of view, of course, that it's a sink. I consider the Pistol line a skill point sink, because I'm not heading to Pistoleer.

So do I. And I am sure the Commandos would be more than happy to trade in the brawler tree for something else, too.

As a commando/smuggler I would gladly trade the unarmed line for something else.

I have to agree with you there. I hate being locked into pistols more than I dislike the unarmed requirement. I really, really wish the pistols requirement would be changed to ranged support so we could have more flexibility.
