I stopped playing SWG for a few months and have recently returned. I picked up my Smuggler toon and have been working on it. Back when I used to play, people used unlocked containers for storage in their houses sometimes. So, when I open containers, I toss them back onto the bazaar for cheap. So today someone buys one. 5 minutes later I get an email that says: "It's hard enough to find containers to work my way through Smuggling. Then I run across jerks like you who sell unlocked containers that are already unlocked. Well you got your 1000 credits. I hope you enjoy them. People like you usually do."
WTH? This was common practice on my server last I knew. Is this a new rule of ettiquette? It clearly said on the title "UNLOCKED" container. Why did he think he was going to unlock an already unlocked container? Are we not supposed to sell these back now?
Just wondering.

Dunno.
If you stated clearly it was unlocked then I see no problem.
Personally I can't be bothered so I just delete them.

Matbe he's new to the game. I'm sorry, a noob, then. He is probably just embarrased that he didn't read the discription. If you are not paying attention to what you are buying then you deserve what you get. I always put containers on the bazaar. It does state clearly wether or not its unlocked or locked. He was just being a whiny little bi-er, upset person. Pay no attention to the idiot.

Would be news to me, I destroyed my opened containers though.
But if someone buys already unlocked containers it is his own fault.
If it was an unslicable one, I would see it different.

I tipped him his 1000 credits back so he doesn't badmouth me around the server. But I still don't think I was in the wrong here.

Looks to me like someone got upset over something that was their own fault... Now, if you were selling Locked Containers which had the lock broken from not using a clamp I could see why someone would be upset.

In the future don't reward someone for being stupid. You were in the right and he was dumb. It was a nice gesture but if he's been playing long enough to bad mouth you like that, he's been playing long enough to not be an idiot.

I probably shouldn't have. But even after being away for months, I've already run into a few people customers who actually remember me. People have long memories on SWG and since a lot of offering goods/services these days seems to rely on word-of-mouth, it doesn't pay to take chances over 1k credits.

I was considered in bad form to put containers on the bazaar before it was easy to tell if they were sliced or not; now that it clearly shows if the container is slicable, it's fine. Like you said, some people buy them for storage or decoration.
My favorite Smuggler rule is "Always give a fellow smuggler in need a laser knife or a clamp!"

Yeah you did nothing wrong. And besides if you dont have someone who bad mouths on your server you dont get enough scoundrel points to date princesses

your fine my friend....
The fool in this matter happens to be the one who bought the UNLOCKED container hoping to slice it in the 1st place.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, since the containers are clearly marked UNLOCKED when you post them on the bazaar. I have seen a bunch on there, and I see no problem selling them. Shame on the customer who is in such a rush that they buy something without reading. This guy probably saw the word "container" and didn't think twice.
When I unlock for a customer, I just trade the entire container back to him/her...I don't even take the items out of the container.
BTW, I usesometimes open containers as furniture and storage too!
