I have to take my hat off to the SWG Smugglers. I have been around since the first week and you guys have waited a long... long... long... long... well, you get the picture, time for this. On top of that, the incredibly large number of you willing to take on PC Bounties has floored me. I find your guys as honorable as they come. It's part of the SW Universe and you accept it with honor and enthusiasm.

I say that because I don't see you guys grouping in order to avoid a one-on-one fight. I take all my bounties on-on-one (with the exception of a few two person groupings with a friend, which is not uncommon in the SW EU). It's getting a little old being surrounded by 10 "people" when I approach my bounty. Even with such bad odds, I always attempt to take my bounty because that's my job (btw, I last every bit of 5 seconds with those odds ). I would be more then honored to hunt you and enjoy bringing back the RPG to SWG...

Smuggling and Bounty Hunting have been such a pivotal part of the SW Universe. Since my childhood in the 70's and 80's Han Solo and Boba Fett have been my two (non-force wielding) favorite characters. These two professions just go hand-in-hand as far as I'm concerned. I would give up a box of investigation each time I lost, just to have the opportunity to hunt someone willing to accept the pitfalls that come with their profession. Actually, I would likeformy character to get on the boards every time I failed five (5) bounty attempts...

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, we have waited a long arse time but it now appears we will get our due. As for the smuggler bounties I can only pray. Personally me, I would relish a one on one fight. Hell given the state of PvP now it would be one of the few one on one fights I could have. I don't see any overts of opposing faction unless they are in a gank crew of 4 or more.

My feelings are the same. These 2 professions are corner stones in a successful SWG world.

And it looks like ours just got a little bit closer to what all of us have invisioned.

THIS is why I'm currently regrinding smuggler. My first profession mastered, and always will be my favorite. Hell, I decided to regrind even before I heard of the new updates we're getting. The criminal community is the best community.

There's a quote about the original design of Galaxies that says it was too much like living the life of Uncle Owen and not enough like the life of Luke or Han Solo.

A refreshing view, and O couldn't agree with you more about smugglers and BH's. We should work together to not only bring more RPing, but to maybe give this game more than a jedi-centric flavor.

I look forward to bounties and actually being able to smuggle.

I look forward to a system where the battle between the BH and Smuggler is the battle of tracking vs. avoidance.

I don't think we should expect a Smuggler to be at even odds once the shooting starts but we sure should have an edge at avoiding the BH.

I agree - I'd find it far more satisfying to evade a BH than kill him. Mind you, it could be hard for the system to judge when a bounty fails, if the smuggler is just escaping instead of killing the BH. I suppose it could work on some sort of timer, but then there could be other problems, like the Smuggler logging on when the BH is offline and waiting things out, or hiding in a house or a yacht, or something. I know most of us wouldn't do that kind of abuse of the system (unlike most members of a certain other profession that can get player bounties on them), but we've got to assume thata lot peoplewill take up Smuggler if these changes are as cool as we hope.

And to the original poster, it's great to see a BH with the spirit of a true hunter.
