I have to take my hat off to the SWG Smugglers. I have been around since the first week and you guys have waited a long... long... long... long... well, you get the picture, time for this. On top of that, the incredibly large number of you willing to take on PC Bounties has floored me. I find your guys as honorable as they come. It's part of the SW Universe and you accept it with honor and enthusiasm.

I say that because I don't see you guys grouping in order to avoid a one-on-one fight. I take all my bounties on-on-one (with the exception of a few two person groupings with a friend, which is not uncommon in the SW EU). It's getting a little old being surrounded by 10 "people" when I approach my bounty. Even with such bad odds, I always attempt to take my bounty because that's my job (btw, I last every bit of 5 seconds with those odds ). I would be more then honored to hunt you and enjoy bringing back the RPG to SWG...

Smuggling and Bounty Hunting have been such a pivotal part of the SW Universe. Since my childhood in the 70's and 80's Han Solo and Boba Fett have been my two (non-force wielding) favorite characters. These two professions just go hand-in-hand as far as I'm concerned. I would give up a box of investigation each time I lost, just to have the opportunity to hunt someone willing to accept the pitfalls that come with their profession. Actually, I would likeformy character to get on the boards every time I failed five (5) bounty attempts...

Probably the best thing you could do is carry the idea of smugglied bounties to the BH forums. :-P more likely to happen if their are alot of people yelling "HELL YEAH!!!", instead of "HELL NO!!". .....Current Smuggler situation excluded!

May a design that offers a clear, explicit choice for PvE/PvP be offered to smugglers. I, myself, have been waiting to be hunted by a PC BH for years now...

Mind you I haven't grouped up to catch BH's with my jedi but I don't stay and fight either I run away or bike away(usually bike)

There is no reward and a stiff penalty for staying as a jedi. as a smuggler I doubt they implement such a penalty.

I embrace the idea of PC bounties on smugglers as has been suggested but those are voluntary and without stiff penalty... it think the environment would be different if you got reduced back to novice smuggler on each death and you got on the terms for doing smuggler stuff near any pc or npc.

I know jedi don't lose skills anymore so my example if different but there isn't a great corelation that I could make and it seemed close to the level of effort.

In conclusion though I appreciate your kind words and /bow to an honorable BH you are in the minority it feels like anyway as I was usually greeted by a group when hunted and often that group included an FRS knight.

I can appreciate your point of view. It's nice to have a discussion with someone who is a Jedi and it does not involve a war of words between us.

For me, just making them have to go back to loot their own corpse is enough punishiment for me. Forget all the XP loss. I say whoever wins, the other gets to loot their weapon (I know there is a BIG difference in difficulty in obtaining weapons, but it would be cool to line them up on the wall in my house.... ). I wouldn't mind if I got beat and the Jedi gets to loot the weapon I was using and my helmet (with my name on it) to put on the wall of his house. And before people start yelling, I realize that is aVERY uneven trade-off, but can't a guy havehis fantasies?

I have no problems with people running from me, I hope that if I miss on five bounties I may have to run myself. I would love that. I want them to run to space and I wanna follow him through an asteroid belt... I wanna... I digress. I also realise that the gank'n goes both ways, no doubt. I concede that point.

Oh yeah, would make my day to have you loot my DE-10 with my anti-decay vet reward applied. *rolls eyes*

But I don't mind in the least if it remains your fantasy.

OK, how about an unusable clone show up in their inventory?

I feel ya on that one. I hated that GL changed that in order to be more "PC". Chalk one up for the Smuggler....

That was my point earlier, I want to hunt down players that are sneeky and masters at "avoiding Imperial entanglements". I want players that have the ability to allude my capture and make me have to work to obtain my bounty, not stand outside and wait for them to "come out". I just want to "HUNT". I don't want a droid to tell me the local of my mark each time I take one, I want to go into a cantina and talk to the "shady" guy in the corner and find out what he's heard. I want a Master Smuggler to have the ability to obtain the location of a mark and sell it to me in the back of the cantina or behind the starport.

/smack Oh.... had to stop the fantasy, I was getting aroused.

LOL... I would love to work with Smugglers in the "underworld", isn't that what we both do. I don't mind being part of the "lowly" professions.

It is my pleasure. The potential of what the "game gods" can do with our professions scares me. I mean, if it comes to fruition I will lose my job, my house, my wife... you get the picture...

Thanks for the compliments.

Hopefully one day Smuggler bounties will be set in, and we'll all be hunted by PC Bounty Hunters. It'll be a lot of fun, and actually make us feel like outlawed Smugglers who have pissed off one too many people.

Smuggler, Bounty Hunter (and Jedi I suppose, as much as I hate 'um) are the two (three) professions that are capable of having the most and the most fun content in the game. I just hope that ideas is used to the fullest.
