I also sended a report to the CSR:
"Ticket Id: 3155113

Dancer cab dance,
Musician can play music.
crafter can craft.
Why can't Smuggler smuggle? Is there some secret to it?

Hello Nizar, this is CSRChristopherS.
I believe you are arguing semantics. Artisans certainly do not make art. And I fail to see what commandos would do under your logic.
Smuggler as a profession have a set of skills, that are useful in game. If you would like to make a suggestions for changes to the smuggler profession please go to the profession: smuggler forum on www.starwarsgalaxies.com.
Thank you for your time and concern.

Just what did you expect him to say? The state of Smugglers is hardly new news. And strictly speaking you can "smuggle". In the game that is implemented by giving the smuggler a higher chance to avoid getting dinged on a stormtrooper scan.
Now is this "smuggling" something of value in the game? No.
Is there better ways to implement smuggling? Yes.
Is there anything currently being done about this on the dev side? Unknown
There will be a number of revamps in the future, we've all heard that before so it is not new news either.
The CSR gave you a pretty good answer in my opinion. Its not like CSRs have any power over the code or skill-set of professions anyway. I'm actually pretty surprised he even bothered to answer your ticket.

So, the CSR is an idiot because he took the time to answer a obviously provocitive question?
Artisan:
ar-ti-san
n.
A skilled manual worker; a craftsperson.
(Probably French, from Italian artigiano, from Vulgar Latin *artitinus, from Latin arttus, skilled in the arts, past participle of artre, to instruct in the arts, from ars, art-, art. See ar- in Indo-European Roots.)

O good you can look up a dictionary. Did I say "I bet Gooney doesn't know what an artisan does?"
Yes I know it was provocative, but thats besides the point. All other crafting professions craft. Artisan is a crafting profession and does craft, only an idiot would assume that since Art is in the name that it makes art, even so only an idiot would point out that they do not make art.

Yes they do. After constantly complaining to a CSR we got the powerup slice exploit fixed.
CSR's do listen and they relay information to the development team. So your whole statement about them being useless to the core elements of the game is null and void.

Look at the CSRs answer to him. That was exactly his point...that the semantics of the word smuggler have no bearing on what the skill set of a smuggler in SWG is. Sheesh..

Oh great you finally understand what we mean!
The semantics of the word smuggler does not dictate our skills in game!!
Now what have we been trying to do for 2 years now? SMUGGLE! And have skill sets that allow us to do so vs roleplaying that we are "smuggling" some "illegal" contraband past "guards" who do not even search us.

Please, DigiDante,
I can see from your exceedingly large post count that you are no noob. The lack of Smuggling in the Smuggler profession has been an issue from day one. Everyone knows that. So to send a question phrased like that to a CSR is at best a "provocation" at worst its just stupid.
So please refrain from trying to instruct what CSRs can do and do do. We both know that there is nothing that a CSR is going to say to the devs on this particular subject that the members of this forum havent said ad nauseum.
The CSR pointed out that the Smuggler Forums was the right place to get answers for questions like this. This whole thread for that matter is framed to make a CSR look bad, and for no good reason. The CSR went out of his way to answer a question with no implicit value. (Given the known state and frequency of that particular question/topic).

CSR's go out of their way hundreds of times a day to answer useless questions. They get paid to do so. And about the repeating issues to CSR's, it works.
I myself repetatively reported bugs and sat and talked to CSR's in chat about the powerup exploit. It took them over 1 year of constant bug reports and complaining before they fixed it. It got to the point where I was in chat daily complaining about it and the fix was the very next publish.

I honestly do agree that talking to a CSR is not going to help this issue, but beyond that point is that CSR's need to focus more on constructive things besides sitting in Chat talking about which football teams they like.
From the time I have spent in Chat,, 99% of the answers a CSR gives someone is "submit a ticket in game" and then goes on fraternizing with others.
Yes I know the get paid around min. wage or even min wage, but they should focus more on giving help vs sarcastic replies
