Thread: GenCon Exclusive Smugglers Role in JTL

He told me that they were initially not going to attend, but then Nvidia had asked them if they would like a spot at their booth, and they accepted, thus explaining the single display of JTL. We were told that the next day they hoped to have two monitors showing the game.

Not a huge surprise, either. I mean, according to "that guy", we "get to fly our very own YT1300" so why should we ask for more, right?
Of course EVERYONE can get a YT1300, so that's not really something for us either, is it?
That revamp better come quick after JTL, and better be AWESOME. They will no longer have an excuse to delay, because if Smuggler is really a Space profession, and there's nothing quickly implemented for Smugglers in Space once Space is available...

Don't know about everyone else but I feelVERY let down, (yet again).
Surprise, surprise...
What a complete crock of **edit**! That was the main thing I was hoping for. I mean, how are we supposed to be a "very spaced based profession" when we're just as good a pilot as the architect/droid engineer/medic in the ship next to us?
I've read stories where Jedi were utterly slack-jawed at the display of Smugglers running asteroid fields. I've read stories of totally outnumbered Smugglers fighting off entire Imperial armadas and savely planets...on pure piloting ability.
AndI thought it was a signature of Smugglers to have crazy-modified ships. I mean...nearly every Bounty Hunter or Smuggler's ship was a stock version of something that was super-tuned and overhauled.
Well, I guess this could come as a plus if no one starts off able to slice their stuff. Then, in our revamp (March '05 last I heard) we get the ability to slice our OWN ship parts and the parts of others'. It would work like experimentation or a long ass puzzle kind of deal so it's not just "red wire/blue wire = random result". Also, if the parts could only be in use by a person with the Master Smuggler or say Master BH skill.

This is bad news indeed. If we can't slice ship parts, then what about us being a 'space-based profession' will manifest itself in JTL?
