Thread: GenCon Exclusive Smugglers Role in JTL
"Another interesting piece of information I was given: The space team is in no way affiliated with the ground team. This means that the folks working on JTL are not hindering content coming out for the current game. So please don’t say that they are spending their resources on JTL and ignoring Jedi, Smugglers, or whomever else. They are two completely separate entities, and are working on their respective game areas simultaneously and independently. Neither is pulling any resource that could be used in the other. So JTL is not making Publish 10 take longer, or making the Combat Revamp get delayed. That’s simply QA testing and development. Things will come out when they’re ready to come out, and not because the teams are spread too thinly."
I CALL SHENANIGANS!!! BREAK OUT THE BROOMS!!!!
we were told by thunderheart (iirc) they had EVERYONE working on JTL. SO WHERE THE HELL IS GREEN MARINE>!>???!!?!1111
C'mon man. drop your stones, and TELL US WHAT THE HOARY HELL IS GOING ON! you're S'posed to be the bloddy dev that was assigned to the smuggler proff. right?
my above post stands...
Hopefully they learned from their mistakes however.

uhm you all have heard of beta right??? Doesn't it exist?? Things can and will change - g
I fail to see how beta testing an expansionwill add new content where a year of development has not. Having participated in beta 2 and 3 of SWG, I can say that the focus is squarely on finding bugs and testing systems and stability, not on content.
Heh, well, maybe they're following in the footsteps of SWG's initial release.. Smuggler wasn't even in the game until late on in Beta

That revamp better come quick after JTL, and better be AWESOME. They will no longer have an excuse to delay, because if Smuggler is really a Space profession, and there's nothing quickly implemented for Smugglers in Space once Space is available...
Not being naive. I said it had better come quick after JTL, not that it would. If the Smugglers don't see something soon after JTL, I believe this community will become even more vociferous and hostile than when previously outraged by the state of the Smuggler profession and the lack of developer attention.
All along they've said Smuggler was a Space-based profession, and with space out, they would have no truly valid excuse for delaying further revamps, at least none that will appease the Smuggler community.

I rarely post here 'cause i refuse to bea'self hating smuggler', usually i just try to have fun with what we have and wait for what's coming. But this, i think, is going too far.
On May 4th Thunderheart says "As it stands we have a heavy amount of resources dedicated to the Combat Balance, the JediRevamp, Space, and new content."
As we know the Jedi Revamp will be live in a week. Will this not free up 'resources' to work on other things or are they going to be immediately funneled into the Combat Revamp? The real question would be which of the above statements is true, arethey or arethey not spreadingtheir resources thin?
I believe we deserve a response to this. I know that it's unlikely, and furthermore, their response almost certainly wouldn't be something we want to hear, but i think we at least deserve some word from the development department, as the last we heard fromGreenMarine was pretty much back in June (as far as i can tell, if i'm wrong please feel free to correct me).
