WIth all the people we see leaving the game, all the ones giving up smugglers, we slowly but surely see the smuggler population decrease. I have noticed that for a few days or weeks, there are less posts on the boards, we all have started our own ranting one, we try petitions, we try community letters, we wonder what other games are like...
All in all we are very unstatisfied with what we have, and the way we are dealt with.Senior members of the boards do not come around anymore, and step by step the spirit of fun that made this forum the most enjoyable of all is slipping off.
Not that i would say we have no reason to complain, and you know i'm in the first line standing sides with all of you, but i think we have reached a point where our morale is too low (maybe we have too much battle fatigue?).
I miss the time where we had more funny threads, i miss the times where we were proud of our being smugglers, i miss the times where i was a smuggler on the boards as well as in game.
The progression is not really a surprise, we have been master patient, then master cynic, and now we qualify for master outraged, but i wish we could surrender those skills, the sooner the better.
For what this thread can do, let's hope the devs help us in our way back to a cooler behaviour.

Ya seems to me that posting volumes are way down since EQ2 went live. I know that on my server populations are down and guilds are loosing people. Theres a lot of player city consolidations happening now too. My guild has lost so many that we have all but abandoned our city on Dantooine and are looking to merge with a new one.
In the next week we will be seeing another exodus as WoW hits the streets.
Normally I'm pretty unconcerned by new releases and population dips but Im starting to get the feeling that were about to hit an all time low very soon in SWG.
Smuggler proff is a mess, but its always been that way. I wont be leaving smuggler while I still keep my account open, how long that will be will very likely be dependant upon the swiftness of Combat Revamp implementation...I dunno though.

that's almost the same for me, my guild is getting very thin, we lost our city, my friend list is hiding more than 120 guys because they aren' online anylonger, and so is this forum, people are leaving, and the exodus is being too big not to be concealed. New releases arriving may be one reason, but i'm not sure it's the only one, generally speaking, smugglers are more SW fans than other professions (at least that's my feeling) and they tend to be more attracted by blasters than by battleaxes and elves... WoW and EQ2 are not the only roots of this evil thing in my opinion.

I agree, but given the choice between non-functional combat system that may be fixed in the near future and a combat system that works from the start...many are quite obviously moving on.
Its my feeling that the makers of SWG made a huge mistake doing the Jedi revamp prior to combat revamp. They blew several months of development time on a relativly small profession (numbers wise). Given the time frame they had and competition that was coming this fall I think they made the wrong decision.
Now I think they will pay for that. Really the damage is already done, even if they got the combat revamp out next week (impossible) it would still be months before we would see any change in our Smuggler profession.
I get the feeling that they will be forced into action very soon either way.

I'm a space geek for sure so EQ2, WOW and all the others dont interest me. I love Star Wars and love the concept of this game, over all SWG's is not bad and as time goes on it will get better. With that said I hate the fact that 2 of the most prolific professions (BH and Smuggler) are treated with less repect then a Chef. I hate the fact that SOE refuses to communicate with its clients, I hate the fact that Jedi is the be all and end all of the game and I hate the fact that much needed and promised profession re-vamps have been stalled for months. This game has so much potential, smuggler, BH and several other professions could be just as much fun as Jedi but the dev's seem to not get that. Every profession other then Jedi has been side lined and nerfed and that is so, so wrong. I want to live my saga, the saga of a smuggler.

Although I was never a smuggler, I followed the plight of this profession.
Other professions are ignored, but smuggler is by far the most ignored.
I slowly noticed the decrease in smugglers in game, along with the increase of posts from people dropping smuggler.
Well, however small my contribution may be, you can add me to the list of smugglers. I picked up novice two days ago and I am very pleased to be a part of this community.

I'm a smuggler plain and simple, everything else is a secondary profession for me. I'm one of the rare few(I think,I could be wrong) that enjoys slicing. I have made a small fortune thanks to a WS friend. But lately my stedy sorce of income has decreased,Not as many people want weapons anymore I guess. Who knows what the furture will bring us but I plan on playing as long as I can still have fun.

Yeah, my guild is all but dead. I remember when I first started there were always at least10 other guidies on and active in guildchat. These days, I'm lucky if there's 1 guidie on, much less talking in guildchat. My friends list has 45 people on it, and usually 40 or more are hidden for being offline. I remember when Coronet was so full of people, I had to turn the chat bubbles off from all the people talking or spamming. Now tho, I've turned them back on, because there's usually no more than 10 people in cnet these days. I know lots are in space with JtL, but eq2 and just the general crappy state of the game has caused a lot of people to leave too. And soon, when WoW goes live, even more people will leave. I dunno, I'm not leaving yet, gonna stick around til at least the CU, but I might be splitting time with swg and eq2. I like sci fi much more than fantasy, but I have a couple friends telling me that eq2 is everything swg should have been. /shrug

I'm still playing, and will continue to do so, though my main Smuggler is semi-retired for the moment. I read the boards and post a bit, but I've given up posting so much about Smuggler. It just doesn't seem to work.
But don't get me wrong, I'll stand behind every Smuggler here and will report slights against the community I see (as I did yesterday), but posting what we want and ideas for the revamp seems useless when the Devs avoid this board like the plague.
If and when we finally do get attention, I'll be in there with the rest of you, and if I'm needed before then, I'm here.
