I was standing outside smoking and thinking about the new slicing changes and how things were before and I came up with an idea.
I think smugglers need to have some sort of carrying case, suitcase, backpack, or something along those lines that can be carried in our inventory and can hold a certain amount of slicing kits without causing our inventory to fill up.
I think it would be great if we had something like this considering that if we were to be successful smugglers, we would more than likely need alot of various slicing kits on us at all times. It was a "little" easier when we had crates of our supplies cause those didn't take up a huge amount of space till we took the stuff out, but this new loot type slicing gear is not in crates and we'd fill up our backpacks with nothing but loot kits.
Basically it would work like this....
Somewhere (Kashyyyk maybe) we need to be able to get a quest from an NPC that will give us a attache case or something that will only accept slicing tools in it's inventory. When slicing tools are in there, they don't take up space in our normal inventory, just the inventory of the case. And in order to be fair, there can only be 20 or 30 slicing tools that can fit in the case. That way people are not carrying around hundreds of things but just enough to do some successful business when not at home.
Anyway, that's about all I got but please feel free to post an opinion or suggestion...maybe we can get something like this put in that would be very, very beneficial to all smugglers.

Or they could make Slicing Components stackable...
...just a thought.

stackable definitely works....but then we wouldn't have a cool briefcase to carry around.
I'm always interested in finding a way to get more smuggler stuff in the game ![]()

and why do we need to perform an entire quest around it, when making them stackable is easier for the devs to program(they did it with resources)...
not that i wouldn't like a smuggler's quest tho... they might even make it a quest where we have to bring the contents to another place(omg, am i suggesting smuggling?) and get the carrying case as reward...

Great idea! and crafters ought to be able to carry 1000's of resources in our backpacks without having our inventory fill up too. lol sorry bud, but we all have our inventory issues. I was pleased as can be when they made it 80 up from 50.
Except that you don't need to carry them around all the time. Most crafters operate out of a "factory" and have the stuff there. Crafters aren't expected to craft on the fly no matter where they are (in most cases), I certainly wouldn't expect a crafter to make me 20 PuP's as soon as he is off the shuttle in Endor. But the player base does expect the Smuggler to slice even in the middle of a Krayt hunt.
I think it is a good idea, keep it 20 max, and of course only 1 per character in inventory.
Making them stackable would certainly be easier, and what we all want, but in lieu of that, this is a good option.

You DO, Einstein... Resources are STACKABLE, or haven't you discovered that yet? You can carry EIGHT MILLION resources in your inventory, and another FIVE MILLION in your backpack. That's enough to Master Shipwright TWICE. Another 20 million in the crafting hoppers in your house, 10 million in each factory...
It takes 18 spaces in our inventory just for the tools to slice a single suit of armor. Don't even begin to insinuate that you've got it so tough.

Stack the FREAKING TOOLS SOE!
If you want something cool to carry how about a violin case with a carbine hidden inside?

I'd love to see this idea implemented, but in the past the Devs preferred to keep things like this unstackable. They finally did it for armorsmiths and weaponsmith loot actually. I expected them to help other professions with the same issues, but they haven't. I doubt they will.
Bio-Engineers have the same problem with pets, it takes 5 samples to make one pet - your inventory fills very quickly. BEs have been asking for stacking or a non-inventory cost way to carry DNA, like a book, for well over a year and have been ignored.
I'd give up hope now, the BEs already have...
