Guys,

This crate thing isn't really that big of a deal. Yes, we are hypersensitive because we've been promised so many things, and instead of delivering augmentions, we've recieved nothing but nerfs. And here we go again.....It seems like we're taking another slap in the face. But the truth is...nothing's really been nerfed here. The randomness and percentages for slicing have not changed at all. It just takes a small amount of extra time and/or preparation, plus some added inventory requirements.

I mean seriously, with a backpack equipped, if you're inventory is full, then you should really consider dropping things off at your house, use your safe deposit box,or store your resources in a factory.

And if it's suddenly become that much of a pain, then we've just found the perfect excuse to charge an arm and a leg for our services.

Honestly, I understand why we're all having such a violent reaction to this, but at the same time I don't think its justified. True, we should be getting some improvements as opposed to things that make it more difficult for us. I just don't see this as such a huge inconvenience, even for the novices.

It's not the "fix" it's the fact that someone, somewhere has decided this is a good thing, and instead of spending their 30 minutes IMPROVING the game by giving us documentation on the Prof tree, has made a pointless nerf to something NO-ONE in the whole of SWG has EVER commented about!!

I understand where you're coming from, but we still don't know why this was implemented in the first place. For all we know, it could have something to do with added features to the imperial crackdown. You all want to smuggle right? Maybe uncrated items willor already have more visibility.

I'm just saying that before we all run out screaming our heads off for justice, let's get all the facts and look at it objectively.

P.S. I don't work for Sony. LOL

I am sorry but I have to strongly disagree with you. This is a huge inconvenience! It is un necessary and uncalled for. There is no logical reason whatsoever for this "improvement" to have been added to our class. This serves no purpose whatsoever except to create bad feelings and to makeone of only two methods of making cash as a smuggler even more difficult and needlessly at that.

The only positive that could come out of this nerf is that it gives the smugglers the justification to raise prices on slicing to 10 to 15K a slice. That is if the smugglers have the B**** to do it and stick to their guns. I find your rosey outlook perplexing. I for one amstunned at this demonstration of utter idiocy on the part of the developers and do not intend to sit still for it. I have seen this class gutted and abused repeatedly for months now. This is just over the top.

Dude this has nothing to do with inventory spaceand only has a little to do withthe "pain" of slicing.

The issue here is that this "fix" ... fixes NOTHING. It mearly addes NEEDLES double clikcing and drag-dropping to each slice. This is a value add in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM ... yet the DEVs decided to toss it in (completely by passing the step where it was supposed to hit test center) in a mindless nurf.

....and these are the Devs who are supposed to understand smugglers wants/needs for our revamp!?

Nobody at SOE thought to themeselves:

"Gee this doesnt really fix anything and I Can't imagine why smugglers would want it....why are we doing this again?" !?!?

Nobody at SOE thought to themeselves:

"Hmm...we probably should have tossed this onto TC for a day at least to evaluate what this does to the smuggler we claim to care about now"

....

I've been in this since beta...I'm done with smuggler if they dont undo this.

I wouldn't say it added nothing. I'd say it just made the profession slightly more difficult to master. Which isn't a bad thing. They've been doing this to other professions too. Go take a look at ID for example.

Get a grip folks. This isn't a big deal. If it is, you need to take a good look at your priorities.

The IDs got something out of it too.

This adds nothing....excpet for needless clicking in already tedious task.

....a great way to make smuggler a more viable profession.

shut the hell up, get off the boards... and go PLAY...

then, if you want to come back and **edit** and moan feel free

but I haven't seen any code behind this chagne on either testcenter or bria (sliced soem weps on both in the last 20mins) so i'm willing to relax until the staff gets into the office and starts to go though the notes and ask for feedback and time for Caylin to wake up and speak up for us.

Why is it only smugglers that get this? If it effected everyone who needs crated goods to work, I would still be unhappy, but would also not feel so singled out. But as far as I can tell, this is only directed at us. So any other profession that usues goods from a crate to perform a function does not have this inconvenience as we do.

There was nothing on test center about it, no warning, no one said beans or BS to us that it was coming down the pike. This wasn't a complaint at all from anyone. Talk about being blindsided.

In the grand scheme of things, it will hardly matter. I don't do a lot of public slicing anyway. Again, what I have issues with is the implementation and methods that are used to bring things like this about. And SOE feels that they are trying to be more open and in communication with us...I laugh at that.

I can't get angry anymore. It's sad that I am used to this by now. I just shrug and continue to play, holding onto this broken profession that I only use for 2 specials and a title. I have little hope that things will get better at this point, despite the posts by greenmarine. I need to be shown the proof that we are slated to get help, words aren't cutting it anymore.

And, ironically, it doesn't even work. Another stellar patch from SOE.

And did we ever get a 19 questions anwer?

Koda, this is the third thread where I've seen you say that we can carry more stuff with less space. I think you're misunderstanding what's going on here. We ALREADY carry stuff in crates. That's not a change. The change is that now you can't use something that is in a crate. You have to take it out first. I have to think this is all due to Precision Laser Knives just being destroyed by one use when in a crate. Since that's probably a difficult thing to fix, they just made it so that everything has to be out of a crate to slice. It's a common software developer thing - something doesn't quite work right, but is hard to fix, so you just take it away.
