I constantly re-read past posts, and there is one major thing I see. There are two major types of people.
The coolpeople who are giving ideas out that are challenging yet fair, and make the game more interesting.
And then the rest of the people who like the ideas, but don't like the challenge, who want the simple way out.
I am going to put it lightly. Being a Smuggler isn't supposed to be easy, it is supposed to be a challenge. You have people saying they shouldn't be hunted. Well what do you expect? A Bounty Hunter's main mission is to kill a smuggler and get money for it, we are supposed to be evasive, that is our nature. This isn't supopsed to be "Oh I'm a Smuggler, I can get away with anything and hide from anyone."
And people with the auto-pull...yes, I can see this is an issue, but comon, it isn't the biggest problem on our hands. If you are going to be slicing just fill your inventory to a point with WUKs and Tools. Complaining about it isn't going to solve it.
People on the Feign Death Nerf. You argue that you use it for PvE and it is awsome, heres the problem, this isn't just a PvE game, PvP is a major part in it. you can say it's somewhere between 50/50 or 60/40, either way, as to those who prefer PvP over PvE, or vice versa. The Devs have to make their decision to try to balance it for everything, and whining about how it will turn out doesn't get the Devs to work faster. We will just have to wait and see how that one turns out.
Thats all I can think about right now for this rant, maybe more later.

Smugglers should lead a dangerous life "on the edge" and need to be hunted by Bounty Hunters. What we do is illegal yet we are currently free to spice and slice with no consequence. If it was dangerous to do;and move these types of items less people would be smugglers, less bulk sliced weapons would be on the market and a great deal of content would be added, by default. There are many, many other profession for people who want to play it safe, Smugglersshould be running from the law and helping others who areon the run or in hiding, its what our name sake does, its our calling.

I agree that a smuggler's life should be somewhat dangerous. However, the risks must be justified by rewards, and there just plain aren't any right now. Weaponsmiths sell weapons pre-sliced for the most part, and the spice market is just plain dead. Frankly, I'm just a pistoleer with a few extra moves at this point.

Agreed. I have experienced "content" in this game maybe 4 or 5 times, and being hunted as an actual criminal would be a welcome challenge. The auto-pull has not been a big deal for me either. Having feign death work differently would be nice, but I'm not going to drop smuggler over it.
Sure, there's alot of problems with our profession, but I've never been one to just quit something if its not going the way I would like. I like being a smuggler, and with some changes I could like it even more. But I've always been a paient person...

Indeed. I love to RP a smuggler. If at all possible I do my slicing in a shady corner of Coronet, I ask the 'customer' to keep an eye out for Imps, or make sure they've not been followed before they meet me.
I do my best to make sure that people realise that slicing is an 'illegal' activity by as much as possible not doing it out in the open.
Although I think slicing on the streets of Eisley makes a perverse kind of sense - it's a scum hole after all, with little or no policing. It's where Smugglers should hang about with bravado - they should act like they own the place.
If smuggling content is included at the price of having my exquisitely tailored behind hunted by Bounty Hunters, then so be it. From what I understand, it's not as if you'll be an automatic target for PVP just 'cos you're a smuggler. You'll make the choice. You take the mission, you fail, you get hunted. Bring it on... Just give me the skills to defend myself or give me a fighting chance.
I'll welcome any change that drives Smuggling underground and out of sight. People will have to find us for our services, and hopefully the payoff from smuggling missions will mean that we won't have to rely on slicing for creds, which should in turn solve the problem of it being so widespread.
I'm waiting for the day I can turn off my Master tag and hang about in shady cantinas, discreetly nodding at the other rogues in my gloomy underworld circle

There is a whole lot of both risk and reward that needs to be added to the smuggler profession...we ALL know that by now I hope.
My fear is that SOE, in their infinite lack of wisdom, will add the risk and completely neglect the reward.
On the other hand, given past performance, they simple won't do anything at all for us.

"My fear is that SOE, in their infinite lack of wisdom, will add the risk and completely neglect the reward."
Bingo.
I have zero faith in SOE to do it right, and I don't feel like being a moving target with no justification. If all smugglers are able to be attacked by bounty hunters on sight for no reason other than our professions, than the reverse should apply as well. Pre-emptive self defense is my alibi, and I'm sticking to it.

Well, as I found in an earlier post, someone suggested that Bounty hunter terminals be sliced. If this happened, we could see fi we were bing hunted, and possibly by who

hmmm...maybe not attacked by all bounty hunters..but only the person who chose your bounty. and of course having to use their bots in places..and if we go into their area..a waypoint is sent to the BH. maybe if the bh is in the same city there could be a system message saying that "be carefull around these parts" or something. or maybe if the BH is within attack range, youll immedietly be attackable only by that BH.
just throwing out ideas hehe.

but then all they could do is add you to their friend list and do a /findfriend and your dead. i thought of that not too long ago. maybe they should disable adding friend when you chose the mission. but then they could have a friend of theirs do that. hmm. maybe they should just get rid of /findfriend

Buzz. Wrong. A Bounty Hunter's Main Mission is to kill a MARK and get money for it. Not a smuggler. Not a Jedi. A Mark.
If they are going to make Smugglers part of bounties, they need to add in every other class in the game.
But before that, they need to work on fixing Jedi Bounties FIRST - b/c even those don't work - so non-Jedi bounties aren't going to work either.
I'm all for a BH after me as a Smuggler - as long as it works for the both of us, not just me. ![]()

I love this idea! Besides being able to see if you were on the BH boards, there are certain Jedi who would pay you to monitor if they showed on the boards too.
