This might sound a tad lame, or stupid, I have only mastered smuggler 3 times in my whole time of playing this game, but since the CU, and seeing how TK get Innate Armor, I was always thinking this. "Why not give smuggler the innate armor also"? I mean, you realy wouldn't think a smuggler would be waring armor alot, even in books I have read I realy heartheir description in bulky armor, usualy they are wearing casual clothing. I realy would think an Innate armor, similiar to TKs would be realy nice thing to put into the smuggler proffession, because of how the proffession relies on dexterity and tricks rather then being shot at....

only problem with that is that Smugglers have no real viable excuse, we avoid getting shot, but it doesent hurt anyless then the other guy, as with TK, they have trained themselves to be able to take hits better, thus they have an excuse for thier Innate Armor.
Im not against getting it, but id hate to see the TKs getting angry because we are 'stealing skills' or something, see where im comin from?

Well... It would give us a freakin' reason to have that unarmed tree... Personally... It's the only aspect of unarmed I'm interested in.

If we are TKA and use a pistol do we still get the innate armor?
I would love to see Smugglers with innate armor...

I'd rather see Smugglers be able to use CoB while equipping a ranged weapon.

Or maybe instead of COB, innate armour, and things that I would have to say are really NOT smugglery, we just get higher dodge bonuses? Or even an innate energy deflection rating. We can 'roll with the punch' so to speak, so we have a chance of deflecting 50% of a given hit, much like the slice gives.

I kind of like that about a dodge bonus. That was one of my personal pet peeves with the CU, the removal of dodge bonuses (and block and counterattack) from the professions. If we received a dodge bonus when not wearing armor that would be great.

another thought would be to just drop the requirement of the unarmed skill tree, which i dont think i have ever used and free up the skills so that a smuggler can get some healing abilities to hang in there a little longer in a fight.
Also, really like the doege bonus idea.

i think any kind of innate armor is just destroying the game ecomomy. jedi shouldn´t have one and smugger neither. in the film they had none i remember. maybe in swg jedi could have armor they wear "invisible" under his robe and should buy it from an armorsmith of course.
i would like to see normal clothing with armorplates build in. that would give the trailor some more content too

I really don't think Innate armor is the way to go. Smugglers don't do backflips and whimpy "jedi-like" moves... We run like hell... Or we FD... Or we CS, and THEN run like hell... See?

The reason I brought this up in the In-concept thread is because:
It doesnt seem very "Smuggler-ish" to be always in full-comat armor. Seems more like we're the guys who wear gunmen's dusters and the ever popular longleeve shirt and vest.....
My justification: Convert undergarments into "Hidden Armor", like a bulletproof vest sorta thing.
