For me personally, I rarely wore armour pre CU. Only for very high end dungeons like the DWB, where I was part of an assault team. Same thing has held true post CU.

As a smuggler, I like tinkering with my gear. I am all BEed out on clothes, which add substantial bonuses for me. I may occasionally wear a Mabari chestpiece, and even on assault raids now very rarely wear a helmet. I am Twi'lek. Helmets do not look good on me.

Dodge bonus, running like hell, deflection, maybe even a little adjustment to innate luck perhaps over armour, would be a good idea.

I mean, luck, you get shot, maybe it does no dmg at all. Maybe it deflects back on your enemy. Maybe you absorb half through luck. Could be many many open ended things. And as a smuggler, I pride myself on being lucky.

I will have to agree though, I never went through intense martial art training, hardening my body to ignore pain. Removing unarmed as a prereq isn't a bad idea either, but personally I like being able to pull out something other than a blaster for a close range fight and surprise my opponent. Give them a leg sweep, then run like hell.

I agree the key for us is run like hell. We aren't really meant to be the assault person. Leave that to the commandos.

"Smuggler: Special Edition!

In light of changes to the Han vrs. Greedo cantina scene found in the Special Edition version of Star Wars: A New Hope, Smugglers will now have their "Delinquency" line replaced with a revamp of an old favorite: Counterattack! Smugglers who take this line will have an increasing ability to rapidly fire back at an opponent who 'got the drop' on them, but missed. This branch will contain Ranged Defense modifiers as well as a new rendition of the Counterattack skill."

If you don't want me to "play the forums," then I suggest you make time playing the game more rewarding and less repetitive than "playing" here!
