Thread: What's the average price per slice?

this guy wants a slice monkey for his armour business. I did I say that out loud? No really mate there are some smugglers out there that are happy to simply work with an armour/weapon smith and slice all there equipement for them. I'm not one of them and don't understand it myself. Bare in mind if you'll be selling top 30%+ sliced armor at a greatly increased rate but the 20-29% probably at the same rate and the sub par blow 20% stuff at bargin prices or just destorying it. I would speak to smugglers on your sever and try find one that does not mind slicing in great bulks and work out a price with him. Both parties can make a good profit from this as slicing in huge bulk is every quickly done. I would say between 3-6k for bulk slicing depending on how generous you were. Remember those 30%+ slices are going to add another 0 or 2 to the price of your armor. Good luck finding someone.

im on corbantis, used to be 2k a slice but i'm rather disgrunteled right now with the delay so its 7-8k depending on how disgrunteled i feel

The charge is based on what type of smuggler you go see, its like this :


A small smuggler charges a small sum (100 pr % etc)


A tidy smuggler charges a tidy sum


A great smuggler charges a great sum

I need to get a ton of suits of armor sliced and I'm wondering, how much does the average master smuggler charge? Is the price different for each server?

General concensus these days is moving more towards a standard 5k per slice. There are still the 100cr / % guys out there though.


Prices will vary based on server economics though...

Well, I was wondering how long it would take before this daily topic came up.


OK now for the topic at hand.....


Expect to see a wide variety of prices. People charge anywhere from 1K per piece to 5K per piece. Typically you'll find discounted rates for full suits of armor.


Another once popular method was charging anywhere from 100 Cr. per percentage increase to 300 Cr. per % point increase.



For an 8-piece suit of composite, I'll usually comforatably charge anywhere from 27K-35K for the set.


My advice, If you're that concerned about slicing cost then take your time and shop around, otherwise, just pay the smuggler what he asks for. The smugglers community of SWG is one of the most closely knit professions in the game. Theres not a lot of us who would take advantage of an unknowing customer.


Of course, there was some idiot today who did accused all of us, who charge 5K per slice, of ripping off customers. That of course is just silly.


Like I said: Shop til you drop. But at least now you have an idea of whats out there.

Really depends on whether or not you can find a happy or pissed smuggler. Find a happy one, you'll pay 5k, find a scumbag and you'll pay 100cr per %, find a pissed smuggler you'll pay through the nose.


Good luck finding any happy smuggler at the moment.

I charge 5k per slice, Free if under 20 percent. I've never had any complaints.

I think its funny, I have some of the same people send me tells everyday asking for slices. I have my prices fixed on the % scale and in a macro reply hotkey. Its funny, because I know my prices are high. 3k under 20% / 6k under 29% / 9k under 34% / and anything above 35% is 12k/ BULK items of 20 or more are flat fee of 3250 per piece. No questions asked, its my time and my business. Since I really dont slice for the cash end of Smuggling, I figured I should price for the added benefit that the slice provides to a customer. Its funny that people will almost cry and beg for a buff that will only last 2.5 hours and pay up to 12k, but yet if I can get them a nice 30% damage or speed slice, or 30% on Encumb or Base slice they freak out and tell me I am a retard. Now what pisses me off the most is when another smuggler gives me **edit** for my prices! I was contacted by this one toon (who shall remain nameless) and he asked for a slice. So I hit my hot key and he replied no thx, your too high. So I then sent him the gfys macro reply and went on my way. He then sends me a reply stating how he has an Alt that is a smuggler on the same server and that I should be charging no more then 100 per %! Not that my prices are great and unbeatable by any means, but why the hell do smugglers I talk to NOT understand the PERM enhancement we are placing on an item and charge for it. You know the WS would charge them thru the nose for that weapon with that same slice! So why cant we get that cash instead of the WS. I get plenty of people paying me my prices, and many are repeat. If you all want to charge this piddly assed 3k per flat fee slice, enjoy, you could be making more, but your all too affraid to say NO! Have fun!

I charge 10k a slice. But that was in the effort to help bring the price up from 2k a slice. guess ill be setling down to 5k a slice. Im happy with a regular increase of 250% from what used to be the norm a few months ago. Although 10k was nice......

since i kept getting pissed of by bad customers. I raised my fee from 5k to 10k.


If anyone doesn´t like it find another smuggler. When people come to my and ask me to slice a full suit of comp and I name my fee. A small % go like *edit* you are joking right? Then i ask them: how much did that suit cost you? and the answer maybe is 300k. So I ask them is 90k extra to much to make your armor 15-45% better? They usual say that im right. But as i said people are greedy and many dont understand our current situation.
