Thread: Grrrr.... ID's might get to mask faction... (Edited First Post)
(Edited because SOME PEOPLE dont seem to understand that I have NOTHING against IDs supplying disguise kits, but It cannot stop there. Many of us have been asking for a group "mask faction" skill we can use to sneak people through enemy territory for a long, long time... and that IS a smuggler-like skill, if any old toon can go buy a disguise kit and sneak through in the same way you can buy a droid, put your contraband in it and walk through scans, how many of you would start posts about us smugglers getting ignored AGAIN)

Wes, no smuggler revamp is all I keep reading. Please mention this in C-forum before all hell breaks loose in this forum. If they dont think we will flip out over another push back they have to be out of their minds.
A disguise is very ID-ish.
A forged identification for some other purpose would be much more smuggler-ish. ![]()

Honestly guys- doing disguises IS image designer work.
No.
They had a chance of implementing an ID-related system of "recognition" where people wouldn't know who you are if you had a helmet on or had your features changed by an ID (with registrations needed after the "operation" to get a new ID, with a system of actually checking IDs to perform some operations), but that should have been done before launch.
As it is, everything that's going to be done related to that is going to be half-baked, silly and not realistic if it's not going to be a full-blown identity revamp.
Altering appearance: Image Designers
Procuring false identification: Smugglers and Rebel Commanders.
Simple.

from an FF report I read
"they are considering new abilites for ID such as the ability to disguise someone as the opposite faction"
Giving the ID's some love... ok, im cool with that, and if they make the disguise kits, fair enough... but doing this out in the field is a smugglers job

I dont hava a problem with this image designers need to have a more established place in the SWG universe.
I'm rather curious as to what they actually believe they can do to get more IDers back into the game. I'm guessing the majority of GCW players won't be overly bothered about hiding their appearance from the opposite faction.
This is a generalisation, but there just aren't enough female players in the game. Females of the human species are through whatever reason, more prone to be interested in professions such as entertainment, tailoring, image design, etc. Most of the male population of the game only buy new clothes if it has some kind of modifier to their combat skill.
My own personal opinion is that I don't think they can do enough with the ID profession to keep it interesting for people in the long run. It's a nice idea, but in practice it just doesn't have enough.
Actually, no, scratch that. I've just come up with one way to keep it viable for IDers (perhaps not the first to): over time a player avatar graphically reverts back to the original model chosen when the character was first created. In essence, the hair dye fades, necessitating a return visit for touch-ups by the ID.
There, I'm a genius, and this post is totally off-topic.

I just hope they'd remove those damned irritating holo-emotes.

Or possibly making the character age after time?

I haven't even seen anyone use a holoemote in game for close to a year. Hell I think I even have some left, but I always forget about them. Not that I'd use them anyways. I think half the uses were wasted trying to see what they looked like.
