I'm sure that we can reach a compromise somewhere on this DL44 thing... Dual certification, maybe? The best DL44 should NOT be denied from a pure smuggler! We shouldn't have to be pigeon-holed into taking pistoleer like we were pre-CURB!
I'm not typically an angry, ranting, sort, but this has me livid. Wes, you're the best smuggler correspondant we've ever had... if anyone can do this for us, you can!
Help us, WesBelden, you're our only hope!

how about:
Metal DL44 XT for Master pistoleer (as it is now), and
Black XT for Master smuggler, with similar stats to the renegade?

See, THAT's a good compromise! Keep 'em comin'! Though Wes is our hope, we could give him some ideas to take to the table

Very good compromise.... I could live with that for sure. Just hate the fact that I already have a very good Krayted DL44 and it would get converted to the base model I am guessing unless they are converting the live ones to the better ones like they are the flamethrowers.

I'm happy with letting them have it. Simply because Solo used one doesn't make me feel that smugglers should have one or keep multiplying them so the value in having one is diluted.

The DL-44 was made by BlasTech, a common and completely legitimate corporation.. there's no reason it shouldn't be Master Pistoleer, to be honest... just cuz Han used it doesn't mean non smuggler's couldn't/wouldn't. In fact, if I remember it was one of BlasTech's best selling models to security personell and the like.

QFE, people need to calm the hell down. Seriously people, this is going too far. Are we going to demand next that no other profession in the game be able to wear the striped pants cause that's what Han wore? Solo was cool, but he is not the end all be all of SW smugglers. Personally for me there are two or three others I think are cooler.

It's not an issue that they get it... it's an issue that ONLY they get it. That's what's crap about it all. I don't mind pistoleers getting it. I mind that we don't get it.

No, don't give them fuel for their "give us all certs" fire. You're using the same argument they are.

Yeah seriously, if it was such a common weapon then have multiple certs for it hence the idea of having the Metal XT for pistoleers and the Black XT for smugglers would be a pretty good solution.

Even though it may make some people uncomfortable, in the NJO there is a part in the 6th book where it talks about Han and his DL44 and how it was so much better than someone's D18.
