Thread: Boba Fett vs. Han
I say bring it on.
LOL very true. Han did win... I was imagining a 1 on 1. .... especially considering the thought of us getting on terminals one day.
Nice pic.

Those were good books.
I liked the Dark Empire Series too.
oOooOOoOoo and the Heir to the Empire series. good reads.
To a Smuggler, the win is getting away in one piece, and for that reason, Smuggler wins, I think.
Similarly, Han wins. It took how many BHs how long to run the guy down? And in the end, it wasn't Fett that got him. It was the Empire and a double-cross brought on *because* of the Empire. Fett never stood a chance of catching they guy on his own.
Now, if he'd manage to corner Han without anywhere to run, he probably would have come out on top, in a straight-up fight. But that was precisely the situation han and any good Smuggler would avoid.
we should (at least Smugglers) have the ability to do the same. i don't see why combat should prevent the boarding of a ship (well i can see how with the way they handle ship boarding in the game. since you have to access your ship via a terminal, rather than actually GOING to your landed ship and hopping in)
but still the idea remains the same.
we should be able to take off when we need to.
(although none of this really applies till we get Player BHs coming after us)
Found an interesting take on Han Solo's killpower that might help.
From http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/Tech/Ground/Guns-SW.html
The penetrating power of a Star Wars handgun probably varies greatly from design to design, much like the power of modern handguns. Han Solo's blaster is quite large, and was seen blasting torso-sized chunks out of the docking bay walls in the Mos Eisley getaway scene as seen below. This gives it knock-down power more like a grenade launcher than a handgun, and it makes sense in light of its owner. Unlike a professional soldier, Han Solo is a man who expects to get into a gunfight against very limited odds, most likely in the form of a "mano a mano" showdown. The fact that he filed off his iron sights to facilitate the quick-draw (as described in "Han Solo at Star's End") supports this speculation, since that is the sort of act which is virtually incomprehensible for anyone who expects to get into any other kind of combat. Therefore, he packs a gun which sacrifices ammunition for sheer killing power, so that even the most superficial glancing hit is virtually guaranteed to be lethal.
A real-life analogy would be the target-shooter, criminal, guerilla, or gun enthusiast who carries a huge handgun like the .44 Magnum Desert Eagle. Enormous cartridges like this are really much too powerful for military or police use, since their size and power come at a cost in ammunition capacity, and military and police use may require simultaneous engagement of multiple enemies, thus making ammunition capacity more important. Therefore, guns like this are not used by military forces and police officers (except for Dirty Harry, of course), but they are popular with many other types of gun owner, and there is a certain glamourous cachet about carrying one of the most powerful handguns in the world.
Hey now.. I'm a smuggler, I want some desert eagles!
my DL44 XT is pumping out over 500dps modified with my skills.
If we're basing it on 'SWG' builds, then who is to say that Han, the ultimate smuggler (i.e. TWINKED hehe) doesn't have a ton of cool CA's in his smuggler outfit?

QFE! Right on!
Han. Hands down. Every time. The guy's got Luck on his side. During the only fight we saw between them, Han killed Boba with half a thought (Yes, I know that EU kiddies are screaming to the contrary, but let's stick to REAL star-wars, m'kay?). Han, blind and without his pistol, chumped Boba utterly. End of story.
Boba's got skills, Boba has talent. He's got the 1337 gear. But what he *doesn't* have, is the wherewithall. Neither did his father. When it comes down to it, the Fetts choke. They get caught looking the wrong way. They misjudge their enemies, and get their heads lopped off. They fight the wrong battles at the wrong range. Their overly dependent on their faulty equipment.
Han.. ain't got a lot. He's good with a gun, and has a nice starship (when she's working). But he's good in the clutch. When it's all on the line, when he's blind and armed only with a stick, or when his hyperdrive is busted and the Imperial fleet is bearing down on him, he makes the play. Every time.
Han > Fett. End of story.
