Thread: I think they want us all to be Jedis

I've been playing this game since April (with a couple of months taken off due to internet problems).My 'toon is a master smuggler (cause of Han and the general edginess and romantic nature of the role) / entertainer (I'm a goof-off and I have fun hanging out in the cantina).


Anyway, I beginning to think with this new expansion that SOE is trying to funnel me into becoming a jedi. The new expansion appears to be Jedi-centric with the highlights being Obi-Wan, light/darkside stuff, and unique saber crystals. Additionally the most involved quest in the game right now is the journey from FS to Jedi Padawan.


Even further, Jedi are superior PvP wise to everyone else so PvP is broken for non-jedi. Many professions are missing content or are unbalanced.


Sony's easiest solution to this whole mess is to have everyone want to be a jedi. If everyone is on the jedi-trail then they don't have to worry about profession balancing. It'll be a nice little system where we grind two double combat mastery, then grind FS, then grind full template Jedi. At this time we will be rewarded with a balanced PvP system (after all we'll all be jedis) and cool little crystals to make our lightsabers special.


It's no secret that the Jedi lobby is the strongest in this community. After all, who did Pub 22 hurt the most? People grinding Jedi and new players (and I don't think that new players have a strong lobby). Why did they remove Pub 22? Because the Jedi lobby complained andbegan to closeaccounts. They've opened a Pandora's box with the Jedi and they cannot close itor they'drisk of the game coming to an end.


Since they cannot slow down the Jedi numbers, their only solution is to convert this into a Jedi game. Hence, the upcoming Jedi Expansion.


Well, I don't want to be a Jedi, I want to smuggle and hang out in cantinas. I don't want to do quests for glowy Obi-Wan, I want tosmuggle for Jabba or Lando or Talon Karrade. I don't want a lightsaber, I want a trusty Wookiee sidekick. I don't want to be Luke, I want to be Han.


Unfortunately,what I want doesn't matter because there are more of them then they are people like me. But I'm stillhaving fun playing this game and I'll keeping on playing it until it isn't fun anymore, then I'll quit.


Oh, I'm not buying the new expansion and I don't think any non-Jedi or non-Jedi wannabe should.

I doubt they want everyone Jedi...

however the only reason Smugglers get no love is because they know every Jedi would whine because a smuggler would always be needed to save thier asses...

Hence Smugglers are the true saviors of the Force...lol

hmm i keep hearing about some new expansion but no one posts any links except to a random french site that i cant read
lol anyone got an official site with details till i see one im gona think its roomer

nope no mention of it in dev tracker or any of the dev cycle forums so basicaly were just going by some random french site
im not saying that there wont be another expansion of cource there will eventualy but 3 months after the last one seems a little early and to be going solely on a random site that has no affiliation to soe or lucasarts just seems a little like were jumping the gun

Umm...it's on page one of dev tracker. Tiggs posted Friday Feature Part 1, and this is the Trials of Obi-Wan link that is in the post.

If you look closely at one of the screenshots you may notice a smuggler hiding from a couple of stormtroopers whilst trying to slice a terminal.


Hang on, ignore that , where's my glasses.


If you look closely you will see a screenshot of an artisan crafting something whilst being guarded by two stormtroopers.


Hang on, ignore that, still trying to find my damn spec's.


If you look closely , you will see an entertainer getting a reward for an entertainer only quest.
