do you ever take things you find in other ppls locked containers? going up slicing 1 i had to slice about 13 containers that werent mine, several times i've been tempted to take things, one dude even had a force crystal in his container but i gave it to him (along with the broken binoculars and cdef rifle).

some people will often yell at me "you took my stuff!" and crap like that but all in all im a nice guy, one particular slice went....

"can u slice my container plz?"

"sure, i'll pay 3k to do it!: (was goin up slicing 1) "

"great!"

(container transaction, i tip 3k)

(i look in my invintory to see im outta laserknives, so i make some up)

"hey it dosent take that long to slice a container"

"im sorry im outta laser knives, gotta make more"

(another 10 second pass as the laster knives craft)

"YO STOP CHEATING ME OUTTA MY STUFF"

so i simply took the container, and the heavy duty leather in it.

i wasnt gonna cheat the guy, im a fair dude, sometimes i say "i'll pay 20k" if it takes me more than 60 seconds" but people like that just piss me off

I usually decline to slice containers just for this purpose. only containers I slice are for people in my city and other people i know that trust me. this way I avoid the hassle of being called a thief and whatnot. thats why people who ask for their container to be sliced from a smuggler they don't know are stupid. you dn't know what's in the container. and you can't see whether or not the smuggler switches anything.

for me I never even look in the containers i open for my friends. I let them have the first look. i don't know how many times i've sliced a container trade back start to leave only to have them yell back at me to slice another container that was in that container. lol

I like your style Dubbs.

When I slice containers for guildies ( havent really done it otherwise ) , I dont even look inside, just trade it back.

Although to date, I have sliced about 40-50 containers ( trying to get xp ) and have found a crystal and two clothing attachments. I have sold pretty much all the clothing I find for 2-6K on the bestine bazaar (only populated town on tatooine 8(

When I was coming up throught the ranks I had 1 Rule....

Rule #1 - Never Openthe Package

Therefore I was never tempted to take what wasn't mine.

I got that from the Transporter (great movie...just like a Modern Smuggler)

and I adopted it as my rule.

Hey all,

I really don't get any flak unless the container comes up with "0" items in it. Most people "trust" me enough to make an honest exchange, most people do not tip me for my services but for containers I usually don't ask (I have enough creds). Sometimes for newbs I'll drop some looted item in the container they could use...but for the most part I don't peek in containers.

Until your post...a force crystal!!! OH C'MON I think Han would do switch, I certainly would in a heartbeat. I'm sorry but damn getting crappy CDEF pistols and broken binoculars is one thing, a force crystal or krayt pearl (I wish) is another. I say take what you can get, keep some "random" items and do a switcheroooo on them. How are they gonna know.

They maybe even give you an extra tip....just as long as they don't find out an it's the tip of their blaster.

just my warped opinion,

I did the same thing when I was grinding up the Slicing tree (which I finally finished last night. Now there's just about a million Pistol XP left, and 500 more App points), but I'd usually give away some Shadowpaw.

I just charge 5k for an unlock...that tends to deter anyone unless they really want it opened...

Anyone asks me to unlock their containers I tell them to seek out a novice, they need the xp a heck of a lot more than I need the grief that I would get from people who expect "cool" items from a locked container.

While grinding containers i never looked into a container. I simply gave it back after i opened it. Its when you open it and look inside that you are then tempted if its a nice item.

Since i'm a master i won't open containers..it takes xp from the novice smuggs who need it.

I don't think anyone ever accused me of stealing their stuff, either, now that I think of it. Maybe because I always gave'em a free hit of gabaki.
