Thread: I know people have talked about this combo, but has anyone tried it?

I have recently started going up the Smuggler tree. It was something I had originally planned for my 3rd character, createda couple days after launch, but due to the time I've put in first two, he'd been left untouched for most of the past year.That changed a couple weeks ago, when I finally decided to check out Smuggler, and get him to master before the Revamp (yeah, right).
So, now I'm thinking about Pistol combos, and with the reduced cost for BH, was thinking about adding that to my template. I have no interest in Jedi, and pretty much just add them to my /ignore list when I see them, so I dont care at all about the Invest line. But looking at the point costs, I could end up going Master Smuggler (for the smuggling portion), BH Pistol IV, and Pistoleer Techniques IV/Stances III (or the reverse).
I was wondering if anyone has actually tried this combo out, and what they think of it. Is it viable in PvP? PvE?
Thoughts?
The other thought was going Master Pistoleer/ Smuggler Dirty Fighting IV/ BH Pistold IV, with about 1.5 lines of something else. But that's not much of a smuggler, now is it?

Hehe, funny thing, I've been looking at this combo myself 
I got Master Smuggler and are still working on the Pistol and BH lines .
My PA leader is a hardass PvP'r, and he meant this might actually do some good.
Well, ill give it a shot anyway.

I was considering this myself, to give me something to do...master smuggler, as much of BH as possible, and one or two pistoleer trees..I just wasn't sure which trees of BH and pistoleer to go for...

Great. Let us (or at least me) know how it turns out. I dont know if it will really be viable, as you wont get alot of the bonuses that the Pistoleer line gives. I'm thinking for a true PvP combat role, the best might be to drop the Master Smuggler, and the rest of the useless trees (useless for combat, at least), and go master Pistoleer, and get the Invest. skills as well to do some serious hunting.

I considered a similar template, but the lack of defences, and the amount of points (IMO) wasted on Master Marksman put me off.

I would throw novice commando in their, I personaly like the launcher pistol! Or better yet with the templete your talking about. Maybe going up the flamethrower line. flamesingle2 ROCKS!
Not sure on teh skill points it would take todo that.

As previously stated commando does rock with the pistol combo. It really helps when taking on turrets or droids.
My template is pistol 0044, bh 0040, novice commando, tk 4000 (for meditate), smuggler 0040, and novice med. I'm going up smuggler tree now, for last ditch, but already this template rocks at pvp, especially with a geo blaster.
This is great combo because you get a ranged kd (low blow), and melee kd (pistol melee defense 1). You also get eye shotand torso shot for mind and health, last ditch and stopping shot for huge offensive attacks, and fan shot for area attack.
All in all I'm loving this template, the bh change brought me back into pvp and I'm loving it.

Do you think commando 0/0/4/0, tka 4/0/0/0, Pistoleer 4/0/0/4, smuggler 0/0/4/0, BH 0/0/4/0 would be viable? Only thing that bothers me is the lack of defenses.

Could be very interesting. You would have the best pistol specials in the game with Smuggler and Bounty Hunter. Kinda sad when the best pistol specials aren't in the Pistoleer profession.

I'm finally back in the pistol game. Currently working on the triple master, Smuggler, TKA, Pistoleer.
Inotice no one seems to take marksmanship line for the accurcy bonuses. Is this necessary for PvP, I had always assumed it would be.
EDIT
How could I miss that! BH Pistol instead of marksmanship in pistoleer duh...hmm now theres a lot to think about...
