Yes, I've tried it.
First I went Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, I found it was so GOD DAMN SLOW! I was like eh? I'm a Master Pistoleer and I get lower speed bonus than a Master Riflemen?
Then I worked towards Master Smuggler, Pistoleer 0044, and BH 0030. (But ZERO Skill Pts left) Then I was shooting everything at per second. Now, you'd have no defence bonuses at all, so it's not a viable template to do high lvl PvE or PvP at all.
What you want to do is buy as many +Pistol Speed attachments as you can so you can shoot very fast as a Master Pistoleer and Master Smuggler. Getting BH sucks alot outof your skill points, but it's the only way to get your pistol speed up.
So yeah...
Dropped Pistoleer/BH after 24 hours getting it. Why? It's retardedly boring. Smuggler still fun, so keeping that around!

What I'm doing for now, in order to try a few other things until the revamp that will never happen, is try smuggler 0440 (i REFUSE to go up through the first parts of the slicing tree ever again!) Pistoleer 0344, and BH 4040, and see what that's like. And drop and mix and match as I feel like it, but keeping those two smuggler skills until its worth it, to me at least, master it. Smugglers were supposed to be jack of all trades anyway, right?
