Thread: Faction perk business dead?

Currentlyattempting to help a friend locate a Factional base deed of his very own here on Starsider. Unfortunately, we dont always see eye-to-eye on everything, and faction just happens to be one of them. It doesnt bother me, as I'm an opportunist before an Imperial: blue or purple dot, all your creds are the same. Since I cant very well leave behind a lucrative Imp FP business for one base deed, I opted to try and locate a Rebellion Smuggler.

Much to my suprise, every non-Imperial smuggler I talked to or had one of my contacts talk to was completely unsympathetic to the cause. Getting frustrated, I figured perhaps I could rank up my neutral Alt until he held enough surplus to buy the deed himself. This went just as badly as the first round, seems FP sales are a dying fad too?

I finally had a contact of mine talk to all the members of his predominately Rebel guild, only to hear "Sry mate, we're all gearing up for the GCW revamp and cant spare an FP"

Did I miss a /tell? Was there some memo that I threw out instructing all smugglers and GCW participants to hoard all their FP? Whats the deal?

Personally I think most people who sell FP, while in love with money, are tired of working 8 hour days, grinding it out for others, macro or not. Very few people keep it up long-term.

I still do faction sales on Statsider with quite a bit of regularity. I don't advertise anymore, but still get 4-5 requests per week. It tends to shift from stormtrooper armor......then it was faction bases and turrets.......then it was rank to avoid the crackdown hassle........now I'm selling to Jedi who want to change sides. It's cyclical...and if the dev statements hold true about JTL and faction ships purchased through the recruiters watch out. One thing i have noticed on Starsider that even though Imperials are outnumbered you'll have a hell of a time finding a rebel smuggler. If its an Imperial faction base I can help you out as I have several in stock....a rebel faction base, good luck.

I still deal for about 5 mill pr week in faction, but its very sporadic as buying bases with the current extremely unbalanced combat system is a waste of faction as 1 player with the reqs to blow it, 3 or 4 jedi and 4 combat medics is enough to take out an entire field of defenders. Faction armor sucks compared to composite. Faction pets are killed in an instant, and there is no point in rank.

pretty close, yeah. Until they get combat and the GCW fixed it's looking like spices.

I'm rebel and I'm a master smuggler, as is one of my guild friends

Unfortunately neither of us are Colonels (I just can't be bothered with the grind, so I take my time ... yes, I've been taking my time since launch).

hey me too. Dont' feel bad. But I get less misguided requests these days than I used to, and guys who deal on my server are telling me that their customers are few and far between.

I hate selling faction so I don't bother with it anymore. I've been running around with my title on, and only once have I ever got a /tell asking if I sell faction though.

I do fine with it on Kauri. I don't do nearly so many point transfers as i just sell the perks on a vendor.

Although not my constant income, I do tend to sell FP every so often. Recently I had quite a big sale that pulled me out of almost going broke and back to the millions mark. Made me happy b/c I didn't want to have to start mining resources again. I hate harvester runs.

I'm on Starsider and I still do faction sales. However, I tell all my customers first that I will only sell with a minimum purchase of 5000 FP. Anything less is just not worth my time.

Humm if I sell em for 15k per 100fp like phoenix then it would be worth it. I apparently way underpriced myself. Going to do this on a request only basis myself.
