Yes. Yes indeed.
<nods sagely>
Now that I think of it, all skills and actions should be put on a a 2 minute timer.

Yeah i don't mind if there is a two minute delay
Just make it so the BH has a Flame Single like timer on their Eye Shot, Then maybe we could stand a chance

Yeah, at least something that will give us a chance
How the hell does eye shot effect mind anyways? Last time I checked, just about every other pistol attack hit random or health

Contrary to what the BHs might think, smugglers really do understand their frustration. They just want to be able to force someone out of Feign Death in order to finish their mission and move on.
I just don't see any decent comprimise possible here, that's all. Feign Death is a staple of the Smuggler profession, even in PvE. You can't just nerf it without affecting the Smugglers who aren't also Jedi.

Thank you for putting it into perspective for all. I read on another (or this) post, make it so Jedi can't learn the dirtyfighting tree, or just make it so THEY have a timer on it.
But although that could work, what difference will it make whe the supposed revamp comes around? We will be hunted by BHs so we will all FD to get out of death. Everything needs balance, so don't complain about the single aspects.

Basically the devs need to force a Padawan to drop ALL his non-Jedi skills when he becomes a padawan.

I think the easiest/best thign to do for this would be to set the timer up....BUT....only in PvP..seeing as the PvE aspect of it doesn't hurt anyone...or well...last time i checked the rancors didn't throw a fit...so i think PvP time and PvE as it is. Should stop the abuse but keeping it useful for non abusive and exploitable ways.

The only thing Feign Death needs is the ability to remove hate from a mob.

exactly. Picking up stuff from random other professions is just lame. However, to be fair to the Jedi, they whine all the time that their own skills are worthless (which begs the question, why did you want to be a jedi in the first place?). In that case, I would suggest making their saber block skills be able to block both melee and ranged, so that they wouldn't need to pick up defenses from other professions. That would also make it so they're not able to pick up FD.
But seriously, if they nerf smuggler after 15 months of not giving us any lovin, that'd be the last straw.

hahaha...and when they block the melee profession with their saber....
OMG YOU SLICED OFF MY HAND!!!!!
OMG YOU SLICED OFF MY OTHER HAND!!!!!
ok...so i laughed anyways...i like it though...block a melee profession and simultaneously damaging their weapon....seeing as sabers cut through just about anything....this sounds like a plausible idea no?
