I got a little bit nasty in my reply
.
New Master Smuggler from Gorath, btw. Howdy all.
It seems I can't master a profession without some bounty hunter poking his nose in and complaining about the perks of that profession, though. It's always the bounty hunters. *Sigh* Even when I was a Ranger. A RANGER!
Bah. Blah. Bleh.

Basically the devs need to force a Padawan to drop ALL his non-Jedi skills when he becomes a padawan.
Yeah that way they are completely helpless since a Brawler can take em out if that happens. FD is just as valid a tactic to a Jedi character as a smuggler, more so as the smuggler also has nothing tangible to lose upon death, a Jed has to drop almost all their skills when they become knights and finish thier templates, we see Jedi with other skills in every source movies books and such (Luke a skilled pilot, Anikin a skilled mechanic, Yoda a skilled diplomant, etc). Nope it may be annoying but it is fair to allow a Smuggler Jedi to use FD to avoid those huge losses it is just annoy, but so what on that it's annoying to be hassled by constant PvPers on the Jedi end as well.

Here is an idea. Make feign death unusable while you are overt or you have a TEF. This would essentialy make it worthless to the Jedi. And anything that helps the BHs kill Jedi is a good thing. The less there is of them the better.

jedi aren't teh only folks that would make fd useless for. The only time I ever use fd is in pvp.

I for one believe the current feign death for PvP is not working right, so I would agree feigndeath should work while not TEF'd.
Maybe allow it to work for overts... which would force jedi to openly go overt...

Using FD in PVP is ridiculous. FD is a defensive mechanism, when you declare you are seeking out combat. So if you choose to go on offense (ie be overt), you should not longer be afforded the protection of FD.

Very true. I hate the whole concept of using FD in PVP. Playing dead might work on a bear but it would certainly not work on a human.

It's saved my butt in PvP more times than I can count. Take for example a heated base defence. You are about to die, FD, and wait till a doc can come and fix ya up. In a heated batte like this no one is gonna take the time to black bar you.

Agreed, FD can be highly effective in PVP. I just don't think it should be used in PVP.

I use it sometimes if I'm hunting faction unbuffed and my spice runs out... it would be a real PITA if you couldn't use it fighting NPCs with aTEF
