Thread: Title: Master Smuggler (or) Title: Pilot (Rebel/Neutral/Imperial)?

I am wondering how many Smugglers will be dropping their Smuggler title for a pilot title upon JtL. I am thinking that I will be as a RP aspect since I wouldn't expect Smugglers running around shouting that they were a Smuggler ... oh yeah, there are a lot that do shout slicing ... but that is a different topic

Master Rebel Pilot Geevo Deem (Leaning towards this for reasons I am not allowed to talk about...but I like the other name more)

(not using official names for the professions since I don't want to break the NDA)

To me, pilot is a subset of skills that most smugglers would have. Smuggler to me implies 'pilot'. I think after JTL when people see "Master Smuggler" theterm YT-1300 will automatically come to mind (even though I'm not sure I'm going to have one myself).

So since "smuggler" will still more accurately describe my chatacter (for me), I think I'll be keeping "smuggler" as my title.

It ironic that a pilotcan pilot things, while a smuggler can't smuggle things ... and yet I still want Smuggler to describe my character, I know. :-P

Actually I always kept my title as Rouge, anyway I'm not gonna change my title. Smuggler is really the only prof that suit my personality and I don't feel right with a title other then Smiggler's above my head.

Right... people will be always think YT1300 when they see a smuggler. Which actually kinda sucks. I REALLY hope they add 2 or 3 more multi-passenger neutral ships (personally I don't care about faction crap, but why not add more there, too)... because EVERYONE will have a YT1300. Even though right now, we dont' smuggle, but when/if we do, therehas to be something else to fly. What else would a smuggler fly? A Kimogila? Maybe, but doubtful he can smuggle much aboard that. More light freighters are what we need.

Everyone already knows that there are (at least) two multi-passenger ships. I think they mentioned in the last dev-chat something about that. I can't say what (because I am not sure if it is mentioned and won't break the NDA).

what is this NDA you speak of and how do we get it?

There is the Yt1300 and of course Lando's cruisemobile that we get for being in the game for a year or more- Is there another one besides that- or would you be trampling all over the NDA thingie if you told me?

Well yea, now that I think about it, I don't know why I posted this without considering those... there is the Yacht, the *Ahem* and the other *ahem*, but that one's probably going to be Imperial factioned. Which kinda sucks, but the argument goes for all sides. The Z95 could be Rebel/Neutral, The YT could be any faction (I mean really, it could), and the *ahem* could be Imperial/Neutral... just because it says it's favored by officers doesn't mean it should be strictly Imperial. Every faction has a gripe about certain ships, that they should be allowed to use them for whatever reason... But except for the one ship, the other isn't really a freighter.

Anyhow, whatever. I can't wait to finally get to create a character and play the damn beta. I've been out of town, it's killing me.

For me, it's Master Smuggler or no title at all...there's no other options...

Well...there's always one other option...(Novice Scout)...

But there's nothing special about being a pilot, technically... it's not really a profession, it's more of a skill. In the Star Wars Galaxy I'd expect most smugglers fly... plus I make my money off slicing, so I will still have my Master Smuggler tag running.

"No Title"

As a dedicated roleplayer, the first move that I make after logging on is to select "No Title" in my Character Page. It's a personal choice, not implying all "RPeople" should do it.

So Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, whatever skills I have go under the blue rug to generate as much "underworld" mystery as possible. *shrug*

Now if we could only do something about that pesky bullet in the "Examine" option...

I only put up my Master Smuggler tag when I'm looking for slicing customers. Otherwise I have up my Fixer tag. I personally like that one.

I mostly go around untitled, only real problem is it's not really possible to find good slicing cutomers that way. Thing is, those standing in front of the SP yelling for a master smuggler or similiar, usually they won't know how to use the search function, I've made a habit of doing a search myself when I see it. This doesn't make them bad people, but those a bit less knowledgable also tends to be the ones you either a) have to explain everything or b) are l33t d00ds. The a) people I sometimes don't mind helping, always nice and they tend to be really thankful and you've just made a new steady customer, the b) people makes me want to pull out some big weapon, shoot them, then wait by a cloner and shoot them again

Anyway, I run untitled when I don't want to be distrubed, use Rogue or Fence when trying to collect a story for "A chuckle for the smuggler" (no luck so far), and Master Smuggler when looking for business.
