Thread: Title: Master Smuggler (or) Title: Pilot (Rebel/Neutral/Imperial)?

I am wondering how many Smugglers will be dropping their Smuggler title for a pilot title upon JtL. I am thinking that I will be as a RP aspect since I wouldn't expect Smugglers running around shouting that they were a Smuggler ... oh yeah, there are a lot that do shout slicing ... but that is a different topic
Master Neutral Pilot Geevo Deem
Master Rebel Pilot Geevo Deem (Leaning towards this for reasons I am not allowed to talk about...but I like the other name more)
(not using official names for the professions since I don't want to break the NDA)
I wouldn't do either, since I don't like being inundated with /tellspam and "pilot" won't be particularly unique, as nearly everyone still remaining when JTL comes out with be flying a ship of some kind. Personally, Iwill continue to use"Gunslinger." It doesn't give anything away (particularly since I'm always packinga DE-10) and sounds.. shady. All the fun and coolness of a smuggler title, but without all the requests for PUP-slices. ![]()

Getting back to the original post, I thought I read that the pilot skills trees are separate from the ground ones, ie, you do not need to give up any 250 skill points to climb the pilot trees. Shipwright and Starfighter engineer are regular professions though.
I would think that everything in JtL is subject to change at this point.
I remember hearing the same thing. Keeping this strictly to the pilot profession that I was talking about ... I would not see a reason for them to change that information.
As for the Shipwright & Starfighter engineer ... I only remember them stating officially that there were 4 professions ... 3 pilots and 1 crafting...they also said that the crafting profession did use regular skillpoints. With the statement of 4 professions, we know 3 are pilot ... leaving 1 more profession ... if there was a Shipwright and Starfighter engineer ... wouldn't that be 5? 4 = 5?
(Please don't make me break the NDA that I agreed to in Beta) ![]()

I wouldn't do that, besides, I think I misunderstood the post anyways. I took it as meaning how many folks will drop the profession versus who will simply change the title on their toon. I'm not in beta, I didn't sign any NDA. Everything I've read is from 2nd/3rd person sites, so it may be off. However, to make piloting a regular profession, the ground game would die, with all the crafters, doctors, entertainers giving up their trades.
For myself, I don't wear any title since I'm a noob. the last thing I need is to be swamped with slicing tells when I can't even figure out how to open a container. If the devs do a half assed job, then surely the manual writers do a no assed job.
