I havent picked up JTL yet. I want to be able to PVP but seems you have to go rebel or imperial for that . Is that true? They should make privateers hired mercenaries to fight on either side. So we can be hired for battles

You will, not sure when, be able to declare in space and fight on either side if you are a Privateer. I think though to do that you will have to be neutral on the ground as well though...not sure.

Ya I am planning on being a privateer in space. I am an imperial on the ground and hopefully I wont have to change.. if so then they better let us pvp as some sort of neutral faction on the ground. Didnt do much pvp in space beta so I dont know.

i have to say i'm sticking with reb. the fighters r just so much cooler imho. tho i really want to fly a yt1300 (what smuggler doesn't?) i'm gonna go reb for a few reasons. the fighters, the cooler helm (again my opinion), and i'm a reb on the ground, so i gotta represent in space hehe. hoping to fly a firespray, or anothe mp corellian light freighter that comes out if the devs grant us rebs the abilty

I will be a proud Privateer if my JTL ever shows up in the mail
. Can't wait to get out there and fight for....well, who ever pays the most
That DuneLizard sounds like one mean ship.

I would have loved to get a YT-1300, but I'm a Imperial at heart. Plus that Decimator looks sweet.

Well I will be going Rebel Pilot, as a member of one of the foremost PvP Guilds on Gorath I couldn't bring myself to dilute my beliefs by going Neutral. I will be Rebel on the ground and in space, bringing death, terror and destruction to those who would support the Empire.

It seems that not only smugglers but the majority of players in general are going privateer, at least from my experience today. I'm picking up the chassis line of shipwright to enjoy some ruthless profiteering in these early days of JTL (and I guess also because I had some skill points left over and thought I should do something with them), and my sales today were probably 3-4 Y-Wings, 3-4 TIEs, and then about 4 Scyks and 12-15 Dunelizards. As a result, I've got a bunch of factioned crafts sitting on my vendor gathering dust.
I'll tell you, though, today I was even busier as a novice shipwright than the day I made master smuggler. It's been a lot of fun.

I have a few questions, i am a zabrak and also a imperial colonel, first question is as i haven't mastered smuggler yet am i allot worse off than a human colonel when it comes to selling faction points?
Secondly, after always wanting to be a smuggler i thought it was time once JTL was released, what are the benefits of either being an imperial pilot or a neutral pilot in the "Smugglers Alliance" as i have heard this being mentioned. For example if i choose to be an imperial pilot will this help me as a smuggler to either make money or get some good content or would i be better off being neutral in space?
Also if i do choose to become neutral will i be missing out on imperial perks that i would otherwise get if playing as an imperial pilot?
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Exactly.
That's one of the reasons I ended up going with Alliance Pilot. I also figure that most people will go into factions to be fighter jocks. The Nova and the Decimator will become true signature ships.
