I'm definately a Rebel, going Privateer

To those of you who feel ripped off by NGE, here you go. "You bought an apple, you ate that apple, you enjoyed that apple. Now you've been given a lemon. Eat it, chuck it, squeeze it over a pancake. The choice is yours." As explained by "Coldreboot"

I have a few questions, i am a zabrak and also a imperial colonel, first question is as i haven't mastered smuggler yet am i allot worse off than a human colonel when it comes to selling faction points?

Secondly, after always wanting to be a smuggler i thought it was time once JTL was released, what are the benefits of either being an imperial pilot or a neutral pilot in the "Smugglers Alliance" as i have heard this being mentioned. For example if i choose to be an imperial pilot will this help me as a smuggler to either make money or get some good content or would i be better off being neutral in space?

Also if i do choose to become neutral will i be missing out on imperial perks that i would otherwise get if playing as an imperial pilot?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

I am not shure about the faction selling, but if you pay 10k and get 125 FP your the same of as any smuggler with underworld IV. The /delegate is rank-related, so a colonel is a colonel, it has nothing to do with smuggler. Only thing is you get a 25% discount on items you buy from the recruiter as mastersmuggler.

The Pilot branches give each another set of commands, take a look at the mainpage for those. for example a privateer can create an EM-Pulse and the rebel can patch his ship up a bit. Apart from that there is only a difference in the ships you fly.

Will beeing imperial help anything as smuggler? There is no content for smugglers in space... so no. Maybe later. after the "HellFreezesOver"

If you are a privateer you are still able to declare as imp, you just dont fly TIEs.

I take any corrections... since my JTL is still to be shipped and my newISP still didnt hook me up. *bites into table*

Jag is correct about the delegating. The Human/Alien thing only screws you when you're buying faction gear (armor, base stuff, NPCs) from the recruiter.

For the JTL stuff, I'm not sure if you can fly as an Imp in PvP unless you're an Imp Pilot. You have to be overt or in one of the "battlefield" space sectors to do PvP, but I'm not sure if you can declare as an overt Imp on ground and then fly around in your neutral ship killing rebels.

Me, I'm working on Imperial Pilot. My TIEs are for Imperial stuff, my Yacht is going to be a casino, and (when I get it) my decimator will function both for Imperial things AND for smuggling... under the Empire's nose, of course.

FYI, Tallon Karrde, headof the Smuggler's Alliance, flies a Skipray Blastboat in the EU. The Skiprays are imperial patrol vessels and he just happened to get his hands on one. You Imps can use the decimator like that. In the EU, several smugglers in Karrde's alliance have Imperial light assult ships or patrol ships or non-TIE fighters (like the Preybirds).

As a Freelance Pilot, you can declare in the PVP zones (Deep Space and Kessel). If you're Rebel/Imperial on the ground, than you can declare with that same faction. If you're nuetral on the ground, you can declare for either.. you bloody mercenary.

It'd be me too, if I hadn't already started profiteering from the Rebels. If I could part BOTH factions from their hard-earned faction money, I'd be right there with ya.

I dislike the Neutral fighters and the Imperial fighters. So it leaves Rebel.

I am a Rebel on the ground, it is more profitable (as a non-human) ... So that settles what I am going to be

I'll be a Rebel Pilot.

The Hutt fighters and YT-1300 are ugly, and the Black Sun fighters which do look cool are not enough to pull me to Privateer.

I considered putting up with the ugly ships for the Smuggler's Alliance in Beta, untill I realized that Smuggler isn't a prerequisit to join in.

While the Decimator reminds me of the YT-2000, a beautiful ship, I don't like TIEs nor do I wish to fly for the Empire.

The Nova Courier is cool, plus, Rebels get to use the X-Wing.

Rebel Pilot, like the ships better, like the skills you get better.

Over Dant there are some rebel space stations, I hailed one and they asked me if I wanted to declare, not sure if this is because i'm a rebel on the ground or because I'm a rebel in space, maybe a rebel/privateer could check it out.

Btw, if you played JTL in beta and weren't impressed, give it a second chance, I was lukewarm on it till it went live, now I love it.

To me, going privateer seems to be the best way to have that covert Rebel angle. I'm a covert Rebel on the ground and a smuggler. I shouldn't sho wmy allegiance everytime I go up in space. I might scare my contacts away. It's more conducive to roleplay afterall.
