Ive been a master smuggler since about 3 or 4 months after the release. Ive been through all the changes, all the nerfs, and EVERYTHING.
I look at my proffession now as a Smuggler, and I see one thing. We can go no deeper than we are. I am standing at the utter and complete bottom, of the nerf pit. The only movement we can go is up. Now Lets all look up and see how high we can go please?
I have all the scars, and battle wounds that you all have. Somewhere along the line of our beatings, I just toughed up, and ignored the pain. I know that our profession is by far the most nerfed, and useless profession in the game. Yet, I will remain a Smuggler until SWG is gone, or until the Smuggler profession is deleted.
Lets stop all the whinning, all the complaining, and all the pointing of the fingers, and lets just go on.
Im mad, your mad, but being mad isnt gonna do a damn thing about our situation.
Now get back in game, keep slicing, and spiceing, like nothing ever happened.....cause nothing did.
On one side Im glad that FD got a nerf. Why? That will be less dabblers in our profession. One the other side, Im mad. Why? Cause WE as SMUGGLERS do not deserve it.
All in all? Im a Master Smuggler, and I do NOT care how hard the devs hit me....cause Im still standing...as a MASTER SMUGGLER.

Nice sentiments really but none of us are smugglers, we are the Smuggers (TM) of Sony that don't do ANYTHING closely related to smuggling.
Sorry but being a Smuggler (TM) is not enough...I want to smuggle by the common definition of the word. Absolutely nothing else is of any interest to me.
I am not slicing publically nor selling drugs any longer (and I've never sold fp) So though I hold the 'Master Smuggler (TM)' title...not displayed...I am NOT a smuggler any more than any of the rest of you are despite your wishful thinking.

Great post. I have been Master Smuggler for the same time as you have, I still like it.
Yes it is a pretty useless profession but hell, thats what SWG is all about isnt it? =) Although I wouldn't say its the most useless proffession in the game, lets just look at poor CH's. They were an excellent profession and then the devs nerfed it to being no more then a show-and-tell prof.
I was a master ch, was fun and then one day I log on and I can't use half the pets I died many times to get or paid mass amounts of credits for. But this isnt the CH forum so I wont dwell.
I also feel, like you stated, that we are at the bottom. Theres only 1 way for us, and that is up. I highly doubt the dev's care what we have to say, after all we still pay 15$/month to wait for the patches that never come.
So all I can say for all the smugglers out there: stay put, be happy, no worries. It'll get better.... we hope.

For Smugglers, there's never a true "bottom". We can always go down farther. Next they'll take away our ability to buy FP, then our ability to slice, then we wont be able to make spice, soon we wont be able to understand languages. And then finally the Devs will decide they're still giving us too much slack and decide to nerf our legs so we can't walk. And then while we're mad about that, they'll nerf our chat so we can't talk.
But seriously... we can always be brought down deeper and nerfed more. As soon as we think we've hit rock-bottom, the floor shatters and we continue to fall. The only ones keeping us afloat is us. No matter how much the Devs try to beat us down, we can't lower ourselves and give them what they want (if we can even help it).

We can't go deeper you said?
/pointat devs office
Then why do you think the devs are coming here with shovels and excavators?
.....
O, maybe you're right.... Not to dig again, but maybe just to bury what remains....

Oooh...
- Removing clamps
- then removing FANs
- Make PLKs single use
- Remove the /delegate command
- bug language comprehension, so that you can't understand any language, not even your native ones
- double the loss of FP and PvP rating on PvP-Death
- make /lowblow knockdown break on damage so that your target insta-stands
- half damage and double time on /lastditch
- Allow NPCs/Critters to deathblow through feign death
- panicshot delays you, not your enemy
- make spice causing wounds
That are 11 more steps we can go deeper. And I bet there more.

yeah, we CAN go down further. There is one thing they still haven't nerfed but I'm sure they'll get around to it.
We are still the ONLY non-Twi'lek that can understand lekku language. Enjoy it while you can.

Yes, I prefer the term Slicewhore myself.
And never say your'e at the bottom.I said that awhile ago, searching for a positive look at our situation. then this happened. the BOTTOM is when they deny our profession ever existed.

You know, I'll bet that when the devs have their meetings about changes they are planning the entire conference room winces and gives a resounding groan at the mention of "Smugglers". They've got ALOT to work on to fix it and they know it!

They would need to mention smugglers, first...
Developer in brainstorming meeting: "HEY! I know - lets make a profession called "smuggler"!.......What are you guys looking at me like that for?"

I honestly feel that they're gonna do something to last ditch. Out of 7 skill trees with pistol specials (marksman pistols, 4 lines in pistoleer, dirty fighting and BH pistols) , lastditch has the most powerful modifier. And it's in the hands of a profession which the devs CLEARLY no longer feel should be on the battlefield.
