I know how you feel.
My character I use ingame is one I have is based off of a PnP starwars character I grew attached to. When I get a chance to I RP him the best of my ability. Sitting around in a cantina, peddling my wares, griping about various in character irritations...Then you have some 13 year old retard named something stupid(seen names like "average joe", "garlic cruton", etc), talking in moronese(ur, u, ne1, thx, plz, and other such AOL CS kiddie speak) totally ruining the atmosphere (Nice when you sit in a cantina Rping you manage to draw others into a RP encounter). Upon examining the retard you see it.....Yep, another peice of scum, a hologrinder, aka a powergamer, aka the LAST people that deserve a jedi character.


There really needs to be a strict ruleset RP server set in place, that allows character transfers, staffed by CSRs who actually care about maintaining a good enviroment.

Some servers are better than others for it. I joined Starsider on release because it was billed as the unofficial role playing server pre-launch. Because of this everyone and his sister tried to start up there at launch and a large chunk of those who wanted to role play ended up moving to other servers. I still think it's one of the better ones for RP content, but it's not what it should have been.

It's ironic that the sterotypical MMORPG player is seen as an uber 1337 player, often enough with a maturity of a 12 year old an attitude that might aswell be the person on the receiving end banging their head against a brick wall.Given the genre's title and it's potential to be such an involving fun way to play your chosen role in a different world,it's a neartragedy that those that want to be surrounded by fellow RPers all over their server cannot be. But then again, there's lots of things that don't live up totheir potential, many of the systems and experiences of this gameincluded. Let's hope they all manage to improve themselves as time goes by.

hehe hey man I am a 1337 dude. However, I know exactly how you feel. just wanted to let you know that some of us 1337 dudes are cool. ofcourse we are a dime a dozen so we are preatty hard to find if your ever on valcyn look me up. personally I got a nice secret spot picked out for when I hit master smuggler to carry all my illegal actions out and if players don't like it tougth. However just one suggestion thougth leave your smuggler title off if you remeber too if your gonna roleplay having master smuggler under your name just dosn't work ya know what I mean.

Any Smuggler yelling they are slicing or selling spices in the middle of coronet needs to be shot

as a roleplayer, i just don't roleplay with people who i don't know, or who i do know but are not roleplayers. saves a lot of trouble and potential abuse/ridicule/idiocy. we're in the minority when it comes to this (i mean hey, this is a game about starwars, broad market attraction) so i just accept it and move on, roleplaying only in our private niche.
