You could also have a system in place which detects certain key words being spoken

I think its great that you RP your smuggler 100% of the time. But you have to realize that your interactions with the majority of the player base are going to be...well, awkward at best.

i have tried to pretend er role play with my smuggler a little bit. our ws is on the path to greatness so he has taken a temporary sabbatical from the ws profession aka lack of skill points for attempts at fscs unlocking. i have purchased guns off planet, sliced them and brought to the city. i go around chiming in to guildies that i have a sweet package that is hot wired and ready to kill blah blah blah that just got delivered from which ever planet i got them from. i think they just humor me and go along with it in my attempts to pretend im smuggling in guns. on some people that i slice for i try and get them involved once in awhile (depends on if im in a hurry for the shuttle or if i made the 10 minuted wait club) i will go into a corner and whisper come with me, i even try and get them to tell me blue or red wires to splice into (even though i still use the clamp and do it correctly)

Thankfully, I had a friend who started me off on Kettemoor right from the beginning, and Kett is one of the bigger RP servers. So at the very least, even if people don't want to RP with me, I usually manage to avoid them looking at me like I've sprouted a spare lekku from my forehead and glow fuschia. They just ignore my random RP'ness and get what they want and go off to shoot more people. ^_^

there is plenty of roleplay on sunrunner, unless i've been dreaming my last 8 or so months of play.

I've told this story a dozen times, but it's relevant here so I'll tell it again.

I got an itch for some RP one day way back when. I head to the Coronet Cantina (First mistake) and sit in the corner and /whisper to people if they want some goods of the "not so legal kind" that I might know a someone who could help them. Well this kid comes up, and I'm sure he was just trying to help, and says to me: "What are you doing? You can't sell anything like that! You gotta yell! Like this!" He then proceeded to yell that I was selling spice and slices. Again, I'm sure the kid was only trying to help, but it still kind of rained on my happy parade/

Yeah... that was pretty much the end of RPing in that fashion for me. Kind of got me down.

There really needs to be a strict ruleset RP server set in place, that allows character transfers, staffed by CSRs who actually care about maintaining a good enviroment.

I don't RP. At least I haven't tried it yet, but when someone else is I play along. It's cool. It adds fun to the game. It sucks when people intentionaly ruin it or are just too stupid to get it. But the worst are people who get mad a RPers. It's roleplaying game for christ's sake. People are allowed to roleplay.

just to get in the spirit of it, since i had to master ID, i made myself look like obi-wan just to get in teh spirit of RP
