Novice Smuggler:
- There is a lack of locked containers that the Novice Smugglercan get in order to progress and gain the initial experience in Slicing.
- Solutions:
- Increase container drop rate.
Dude no way man. As it sits now I loot a container on almost every other loot. I get so many I don't know what to do with them all. Instead of give them to a noob or slice them myself I just destroy them like most of the other player base does.
We destroy containers because we know they contain nothing but junk. That's it just junk never never never never anything good. Most of the player base knows this too. So it would appear that there are not enough containers that are being looted but there are too many in fact and what is happening is that people are destroying them completely because they contain nothing but junk.
Solution:
-Move Slicing Containers Certification to different levels of slicing and color code the containers
-Decrease/Incrase the Drop rate of Containers - Makesomeextremely rare and keep the white ones the same for the noobie smugglers
-Change Containers concept completely. Color Code them, Yellow, Red, Green, Orange, Blue, and White. Depending upon what color it is says how good the loot will be and what level slicer can open it up.
-Red - Master Smuggler
-Orange - Slicing 4
-Yellow - Slicing 3
-Green - Slicing 2
-Blue - Slicing 1
-White - Novice Smuggler
-Put something good inside some of them. Leave the white ones the same but increase the loot of the higher colors. I'm talking Legendary Weapons, Super AA's, Premuim Crystals, BH Armor, JetPack components, GDK Scale, Kraty Pearl, Rancor Tooth, NS Clothes, ETc.......You name it and it should be in there. It should be a random high level loot in the game depending upon it's color.Let's take this containers ideaand make it something really really exciting.
-Create your Image Designer Deal type interface.
This will help solve many issues. Master Smuggler Only Content, Containers will be usefull, etc..... it will do a lot and will be extremely easy to implement into the current system.

Exactly - if I loot a locked container from an NS elder than there must be something decent in it if she's carrying it. Great idea and certainly would have made smuggler a lot more interesting back when I was doing it.

That would be a good idea, but how do they do it?? As far as I know, right now there is nothing in the containers untill you slice them. The system throws something in them at time of slice(someone correct me if I am wrong). The reason I say this is because when you slice the container if you watch, right after slice, for the first second or 2 it shows there are 0 items in the container and then something goes in it. So the only real way to do it would be when the item is looted to generate the item in the container. but awesome idea
I love it. I also think that as the containers chalenge color increases, so should the quality of equipment needed to slice it. That would make it important to create high quality slicing equipment.

Great Idea!
But there are some good items in locked containers sometimes. Just today my rl friend dropped 3 containers at my house to slice. Inside 2 of them was another container. The fifth one I sliced had rifle speed +1. He also dropped off a load (at least 25) 2 weeks ago.I founda crystal, a medicine exp. +1 and a food exp. +1. His LC's get all the good stuff
But your idea is still awesome. That would be a great addition.

Yeah, that's why a Locked Container can fit inside other container types, because they're technially not a container untill sliced.

I imagine containers just reference a loot table to determine their contents, so that would be easy if you just had multiple kinds of containers. So-
Locked Container (Type A) > reference meatlump loot tables
Locked Container (Type C) > reference tusken loot tables
Locked Containers (Type E) > reference Nightsister loot tables
Or something along those lines.
I definately like this idea. Who would bother to lock a container containing a low-quality heavy axe and a pair of shoes??

I don't know about this idea - think about how some people react now if the container is empty - imagine what would happen if you opened a high-end container and it turned out to be empty. Accusitions would fly thick and fast.

Yeah but they fly thick and fast for the white containers now...I like it but this is smuggler content maybe if you add the color of the container means there is a colored crystal inside it the devs might put this in.

correctly implemented, this would be awesome...especially with some kind of anti-fraud interface, and the rankings so only master smugglers get to open the highend stuff. I would do it this way, though, to give more for masters:
-Black(being the rarest) and Red - Master Smuggler
-Orange - Slicing 4
-Yellow - Slicing 3
-blue - Slicing 2
-Green - Slicing 1
-White - Novice Smuggler
I swapped green and blue, because to me, it makes more sense that way.

Thanks guys.
I think it would be a great fix and easy to implement and I have read a million and one great posts on these forums that never get implemented so don't anybody hold your breathe.
The Devs would use random loot tables that increase in level depending upon the color. The slicer will need increased skill to open the higher end containers and evern possibly a droid that DE's can make.
The interface should be different depending upon the level of container it is and also theSmuggler interface should be similar to the Image Designinterface in order to stop thieves and create trust for the random noob smuggler, alsothecustomer can watch you do your thing and unlock the container as well as see what is inside the container. Then you can complete the transaction according to how you have it set up.
I don't think containers should ever be empty. Especially the high end containers.
This would be some great smuggler content, extremely easy to implement, and will show the player base that they do have some concern about all the borked proffesions in the game. As it sits now all the dumbass devs are doing is nerfing everything to death. The only proffesion that has ever received a real fix was the Chef proffesion. Every other proffesion including Jedi is much worse than it was before the supposed revamp. I'm really getting sick of the Devs incompetence in this game.
