cause it's fun.
i like being able to slice
i like selling fp
cause i have high hopes for a revamp

Smuggler is, in my opinion, by far the coolest profession in the game. When you see that smuggler tag above somebody's name you just automatically give them just a little more respect than others. Also, this is the best community of people in the game. Our profession is broke but we're like a support group for each other. What other reason is required?

The reason I'm a Smuggler is because I've always liked the "scoundrel" type persona. And I think this profession willbe revamped to its greatness, in the future.Also my friend is an armorsmith so it helps him out a lot

Being a Smuggler isn't a profession, it's a way of life. I have come back to the smuggler life after a hiatus and am happier with the game than ever. Being able to slice my own armor and weapons (even though I have 2 friends who are master smugglers.) I love the dirty fighting tricks, spice, and faction perks. Being a part of the seedy culture in the Star Wars universe has rewards unlike any other profession.

Because Han Solo was one cool *edit* and i want to be him!
Im cooler though because i have the patented smuggler goatee(both in game and rl) and a pony tail(in game only)
Plus i love the fact the Han WASNT FORCE SENSATIVE...although i am(in game of course it would just be plain silly for me to claim i was fs in rl...)

For me, I know it has nothing to do with the in-game abilities of the profession. I guess it's just being a Smuggler, even though I can't smuggle anything at the moment.

I am a crazy Star Wars fan and to me the coolest thing in star wars is smugglers and jedi. So when I started this game I began as an artisan because the guide said that you would need two artisan branches to get novice smuggler. At some point I figured out that the requirements had been changed and did the pistol and then unarmed branches to get novice smuggler. To me smuggler is the coolest profession in swg and in star wars in general.. sure it would be neat to be a jedi but to me star wars is just as much about smugglers like han solo as it is about jedi like luke.

For the RP, what other class can you get away with doing illegal actions and still claim to be an innocent?
You could be standing in a starport slicing weapons when an imperial patrol walks up on you and does a search..... when I'm slicing all my gear hides on my bot so I don't get fined 
but I truely love the whole aspect of being the not so vilionous scoundrell.

For me it is because we have the potential to have alot of fun with this profession. I'm looking forward to the day that we get to smuggle, and hopefully smuggle interactively with players. It's really the only profession whereyou(could) do more than just blow crap up, or grind crap out. It has some really amazing potential for great fun. I just can't wait for the day when someone comes up to me in a cantina because he needs a trip to another planet and he is not trying to "attract" imperial attention.

When you watch the movies, there 5 are types of charachters.
1. Your nameless/faceless drones who die
2. The administrative people who were much, much older than I, and didn't do anything really cool
3. Bounty hunters. With the exception of Boba Fett, they all kinda sucked
4. Jedi
5. Smugglers
I'm not going to gring a bunch of professions or XP to be a Jedi, I don't want to be Admiral Ackbar, and there's only one Boba Fett.
That leaves Smugglers, which have always been one of the coolest things about the movies (in my opinion).
That's why I'm a Smuggler.
