A few days ago in a big battle in theed I got a very very (600+ tick) action poison on me...as last resort I FD...the three guys silly enough to attack my body got killed by my colleagues...doc from our team ran up, cured poisoned and healed me..

when two groups of people are fighting they won't be able to blackbar you without getting killed by your friends

I got up fresh as new and got to DB my first FRS knight

If you get hit with a disease/poison combo and feign death before it ticks down your bar all the way, and it continues to tick away while you are in FD, will you get incapped like you would if you were not in FD?

The only real problem I've run into with feign death is that it's not done immediately. You have to clear your combat queue first, which can sometimes be a bit of a pain, because normally when you need to feign death, it needs to be NOW and that extra few seconds can be the end.

I've never had it fail once i got the message "you prepare to feign death" though.

That brings up a good point. Anybody know the command to clear the combat queue? A macro could be written that went,

/ui action clearCombatQueue; (or whatever the actual command is)

/feigndeath;

Then add that macro buttom in place of your FD hotkey and you're all set.

Okay, as soon as "You Prepare to Feign Death" shows up on your screen, not matter what you get hit with or how hard you get hit, you will Feign Death, and not die.

In the below examples, my HAM stats will be used (unbuffed). Top to bottom, they'll be just like listed for you, Health, Action, Mind.

Example #1- Feign Death/Incapacitation:

Your stats are at-

140/800

657/800

436/800

"You Prepare to Feign Death"

You get hit for 255 points of health.

You will then Feign Death, and in the bottom right corner, it will show your incapacitation timer running. Even though you were incapacitated, Feign Death takes precidence, you can not be deathblown. Once your stats heal and you have the blank timer.

Example #2-Feign Death + non-wound DOT:

Your stats are at-

340/800

657/800

436/800

"You Prepare to Feign Death"

You get hit for 255 points of health, plus a 85 point healtbleed.

You will then Feign Death, and in the bottom right corner, you have the blank timer. You cannot be killed, however, DOTs will still count against you while FD and FD/incapacitated. Now, with my experience, a bleed will not incapacitate while you are FD, but, I will test this when I get home from work. Anyway, you will need to wait for the DOT to wear off, because you likely won't have the strength to go for long, unless you pop a Pixie.

Example #3- Feign Death +damage &wound DOT(Disease and/or Flame and possibly bleed or poison)

(this time, buffed)

Your stats are at-

1640/3207

1457/3186

1436/2454

You suddenly see a Combat Medic and a Commando coming after you.

The CM hits you with a Action Poison with a 576 tick.

"You Prepare to Feign Death"

The Commando hits you with a Flame Thrower for 1246 points of Healthdamage and managed to get Flame DOT on you.

First off, you didn't get capped, but you are FD and *very* low on Health, as well as rapidly losing Action. Like I said, I'll see if damage DOTs will cap you while FD. While on the ground, will take wounds from the Fire, and you will be succeptable to any diseases the CM decides to throw your way as well as what you're close enough to recieve. Do not get up. Wait for a fire blanket, wound healing, and a poison cure. I repeat, do not get up.

And that's all I can think of, at any rate.

That's what I'm thinking, but I still wanna make sure the bleeds won't.

Besides, it'll give my friends a chance to shoot me without reprecussion.

Bleeds won't. I got a bleed from an npc and feigned a couple of days ago...I just laid there till the bleed went away and then until my stats came back up to a tolerable level and finished him. I've had FD fail on me a couple of times tho. It just gives you a message, right before you get incapped I might add , that says something like "You have failed to Feign Incapacitation." It looked like you still take the hit like you were going to feign, but I can't be too sure, it's only happened 2 times to me total. Oh, and Caylin stated in another thread that after getting DF 4 it never failed.

The biggest issue with FD is lag. Yes you have a delay when you when you FD it kicks off on the next hit you take the problem s in high lag the FD will kick in after 5 or 6 steps from the point it should have. After this happens youwarp back to where you hit FD.

The big problem is the5 or 6 steps your taking allow the enemy to attack you and kill you before the FDtakes effect. To combat this its like dismounting from a swoop in lag. Stop turn hit FD Ducking around a corner is perfect for this (also helps block some of the attacks). This is much less of a factor in melee combat where your not running.

That's correct,

/feigndeath;

Used the same icon for the macro as FD and placed it in my quickkeys instead.

Hi everyone,

I have 18 extra skill points and am thinking of picking up smuggler 0/0/3/0. I have used feign death a bit with another character, but I still have some questions. I read the FAQ and know that its chances of failure increase with more enemies attacking you. My first questions is, has anybody ever had this skill not work for them and why? Be as detailed as possible in describing the situation please.

I need this information becuase with my alt that has used feign death I have never had it not work, but I know it is not going to work all the time. With this character I would be picking up feign death to add to my overall survivability rate but to do that I need to know as much as possible about when it might not work.

Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for that command. I've been wondering what that was.
