That's right, there is a good chance of this happening so blame them when you guys get screwed even more. Aren't Jedi wonderful?

How would blaming them help us? I think this community needs to start thinking outside the box. Think of a solution that only solves the problem at hand (Jedi and BH abusing FD) and does not interfere with other issues.
Personally, I think the solution is already there. Feign Death is a special ability gained from Dirty Fighting I and throughout the tree you get FD mods. The only thing that needs to be tweaked is that FD has to fail much more at DF I than it does now;make it become really effective at Master level.

I think the solution is easy. If Jedi are abusing the skill, they should be prevented from using it. I hate the whole lets give Jedi everything. Jedi are greedy, complaining spoiled kids...they have the uber class with major benefits already, why should they be allowed to grab (and abuse) one of our only special talents.
It just sucks. Smugglers are the poorest profession, and now we are about to be robbed of what little we have because the most powerful class is abusing our skill? For me the solution is easy, take it away from them.
And you know what really disturbs me? According to the story, Jedis are supposed to be kind, selfless and willing to make sacrifices for the good of the many, but in this game we have nothing but selfish, powerhungry attitudes.
Bah fui.

Now, now - let's be reasonable and not blame everything on the Jedi/Bh communities - it won't get us anywhere.
The likelyhood of FD getting nerfed is high because it's very easy to get and can save your butt big time - especially when you're a Jedi or BH.
The way to counterbalance FD is actually pretty easy - put a limited duration on FD and a reuse timer on it at DF 1.
The duration of FD increases and the reuse timer decreases as you increase in skill up to master.

Nah...I'm not going to blame Jedi...it's not their fault that they are in a game, existing in a timeline where they shouldn't.
I blame SOE. Why?
Because in SOE's infinite wisdom, they created a system ripe for template stacking, but then didn't think to TEST that system. Did the uber FotW templates just get bypassed in Beta? And then allowing Jedi to pick up standard profession skills only compounded the problem.
It is SOE's fault that we're in this mess. Hopefully, the Combat Revamp will help this situation...given that after a year-and-a-half, they'll not only be balancing individual professions against one another, but also balancing the template stackers as well.
Regardless, I still expect some sort of penalty put in place for FD, wether it be a timer put on how often we can use it (similar to FoW for TK), or some other controlling factor.

Cant expect the player base to play fair. Its hardly their fault if the basics of the game are flawed. Lets be honest nine times out of ten if the game lets you do something thats going to be of benefit to you, your going to do it(i exclude exploits here) I went on record several moths back on my own server boards saying i hated the whole concept of jedi, had no intention of ever grinding one...here i am a few months later making regular trips to a certain little village...
The fault is with SOE. My major concern about the whole issue is wether we get screwed over again whne they try to fix this.....

I too must blame SOE. Not because of the timeline change, that was okayed by Lucas Arts, but because they changed the way you get and level your Jedi character. If they left it the way that it was (Jedi with their own skillpoints and trees and NO other prof access) and kept BHers with the high skillpoint needs. Then we would not be having this discussion. If we do get nerfed THAT is what the complaint should be about -- don't blame the players for using the game the way SOE made it. Blame SOE for changing the rules in the middle of the game.

I agree. I liked when jedi had its own tree. And while I do complain about the jedis, I should blame SOE as well for completely messing this situation up. I guess I should have included it in my original post for I do blame SOE for, it seems to me, trying to placate the wannabe jedis and changing the whole game, to the detriment of others and professions in general, to suit the needs of the "jedi." It amazes me how responsive the devs are to jedi in light of their complete shunning of smugglers. I was in a guild and one of my guild mates, who had been playing the game for like a month, was grinding holos when the word came down that there was only a couple of weeks to grind. She started moaning and complaining and threatening suits. I kind of laughed to myself because we smugglers had been doing this to no avail ever since launch, it seems. Then SOE decided to let the grinders continue to grind offering free unlocks and so the grinding continued.
It blew my mind that SOE so quickly changed things to meet the needs of the wannabe jedis. I guess, I'm a little peeved and should lighten up a bit, it's just so hard. This game could be so much, yet it seems to have no soul left. There's no real roleplaying, at least on my server. In fact the whole concept of a character class or profession seems to have been ruined by hologrinding IMHO.
blah blah blah...it just is so annoying.
I guess the whole FD thing really gets me because before I picked up sword, FD kept me alive in many bad PvE situations. Putting a timer on it is kind of silly to me. I mean if you successfully feign (or fake) death how can you put a time limit on it? If you can't lie there and heal or wait out the danger, what use is the skill? I do, however, have no problem tweaking the success rate of FD, even to the point of giving BHs some kind of bonus to hinder successfully FD, but I think once you've successfully faked your death you should remain that way until you decide to give up.
Personally, I think Jedi should be a profession of its own with no ability to be any other profession like it was in the beginning. The original system seemed to me to be a good way to go. Jedi aren't like any other profession, they are a special character class and a powerful one. They should be treated differently, but not preferentially.
However, I realize the reality of the situation and I realize SOE and Lucas are really only in it for the money and being a Jedi is a major selling point. I can't imagine they will ever care about anything else.

Put FD in the master box, wow .... something in the master box .... *shivers*.... problem solved.
If anything else happens, like a nerf, we know then there's no hope for us in mid or long term. I cannot, will not, believe they will nerf us.
And even at that, it's a nerf for our brothers that kept some smuggler skills thinking the future revamp would be nice to us and hoping to come back to Master.
No one really wins in this deal, it's just a question how to reduce the damage. IMHO, Master Box is the solution. Dabbling has always been an issue, I remember the CH era FotM (wich lasted 3 or 4 months)
Beating upa dead profession would show some new qualites from whoever is in a charge of this circus called game.
Sorry, can't beleive they will nerf the skill and profession. I'm repeating myself, cannot beleive it.

"Master-Box" is the one and ONLY answer to this problem.

Agree , Full FD as we know it should be at master , perhaps the FD on a timer etc for lower level FD or give BH's a move which breaks low level FD ?

First, I blame Jedi for everything now, because anything that is nerfd or vamped up is because it directly effects them most of the time
This is just an honest question for ya though, if you moev FD to Master (which is the best idea) what would you do with the modifiers for it? Just get rid of them and make it so you get that amount at Master?
