Thread: So I'll Finally Reach Novice Smuggler Tonight and....

After reading the forums I wonder if I'm about to kill my entire gaming experience... I'm starting to wonder if I should invest my time in another profession.
I have such dreams to be a smuggler, being like Han Solo and moving illegal goods from point A to point B - while hoping to not be busted by the authorities.... but it's not going to be that way for me is it?
So I guess my real question is - if you could do it all over again, would you regrind Smuggler or try another profession? If you would try a different profession, what would it be? I'm looking for a little guidance here.....
i would say if you want to be a smuggler and be like Solo, you will need to add the personality and role play the part. the profession adds some tools to help you be a scoundrel, like illegal slicing, spice sales, and dirty fighting tactics liek shooting someone in the kneecap.... lol. But otherwize its on you to BE the smuggler ![]()
I hope no one minds if i post here. yes my name is red but im really posting just as a player ![]()

That's pretty much it. Yeah, we don't (can't....) smuggle, but we can roleplay. (But, most players don't/won't play along.)

Belive me it would probably cut in half the number of complaints if we just had a red name post even helpful thing like the above regularly.
It makes us feel important ![]()

Well this is going to turn into a threadjack pretty fast, but I'm delighted to see more casual dev posts along these lines. I always wished that the devs would just jump in and talk with us more often, and am glad to see that happening.
Unfortunately, you do have to remember that all of your posts show up on the Dev Tracker. That's going to mean that many threads you post in casually will be derailed by people who see a red name and beg for fixes and whatnot, and you'll get some people complaining about you making "useless" posts on the dev tracker, and likely someone will complain about the extra attention given to smugglers.
I'm thrilled that you're participating in our community, but just keep that in mind and remember that now that you're a red name, everyone sees everything you write

On Topic: Personaly I like master Smuggler even if I do absolutly no role-playing, the comunitiy here is worth the hassle by far, even if it is somewhere where cynics gravitate to.

As much as I hate the neglect that this profession has suffered, I love the community so much that I don't think I could ever truly give up Smuggler. After a while, it just becomes part of your blood...

Well since tiggs is starting to get to know the GAT better. I do not believe if there is a RED name filling up the Smugglers is fine too.

I've mastered, dropped,..and remastered. Despite all the "stuff" goin on...I can't seem to let it go.
Maybe from hopes of better days ahead. Maybe from a loyalty to my title.Originally I started off as a pistoleer, and Smuggler was just a natural branch off. It seems though now...I base everything around Smuggler. I even considered a Ranger/Smuggler combo....yeah weird I know. My best advice...hang on to Smuggler till after the combat revamp.
Either we will get some much needed love and you won't want to quit....or you will love this borked profession so much you just won't wanna drop it
Either way, welcome to the fold.
BTW..if I could do another profession (and I've sampled all of them) I would say Ranger/Rifleman and then I would go out and play the rogue rebel sniper.
