Do you use this in PVP? Last time I used it I got 3 guys standing over me laying Fire, Poison and Disease DOT's on me.
At the end of the day if I use FD,I am admitting defeat - I just dont want to go through the hassle of cloning and getting buffed again butIf you end up being Black Barred, BF going through the roof and your armour getting wrecked then whats the point of having this skill apart from PVE?
Do you report people who black bar you when youFD or do you think its just part of the game? Is there an Official SOE view on it?
I am not whining, I just wondered how everyone else felt about this..... Views?

Feign Death is not properly implemented for PvP. If it were, you would show up as "corpse of deadguy" and nobody would be able to attack you. Since you are not really feigning death in PvP with the feign death command, you are really just laying still and letting them attack you without fighting back, it needs to be fixed.
This command will definately be dealt with in the combat update as it is being abused by Jedi to prevent death blows and loss of xp/jedi status. Don't expect it to work likeit doesafter the CU.

Last night I was selling some faction at the imp outpost in dant when 2 overts attacked the st's. one was a cm and when the poison hit me i went down. the two rebs had fun blackbarring me while i was calling in help. My rescue team showed up incapped the two rebs. I jumped up, walked over to them and told them "You messed with the wrong smuggler". /deathblow x2.
I love being a dirty smuggler.
And I have been told by a csr that FD was not meant for use in PVP

Is it just me or is this your nightly event in game? Sell faction, get ganked, FD, call in help, kill attackers. I'm missing out on some fun

I dont like to lose...... With that said I dont use FD as a stand alone skill in PVP unless it is a very large battle and I can go unnoticed in the chaos (i.e. the enemy thinks Im incaped).I've found that FD and FoW (Force of Will is a TKA skill)are a perfect set oftools to use in PVP if your losing. Here is what you do:
Your in a fight and your losing so you hit FD, next hit FoW. This TKA skill when it works will return your stats to full when you are incaped and FD is just an incap that you have control over. So you FD then FoW then jump up and beat the crap out of the person you have been PVPing. Ive found that I have more luck with this combo then not (there are times it does fail but not a great deal). Some pro's know this trick and heal the sec you go down, but the n00bs who dont either run like school girls when you pull this move or die like a dear in the head lights of a car.

It has been said on many occasions that FD was never ment to be used in PvP...
I however find its current incarnation quite suitable in PvP. If they wish to dull their weapons on me, I have no problem with that. The wounds are a fair trade for not cloning. There must come some disadvantage to a skill so powerfull as to avoid death. While I'm sure combat rebalance and/or Smuggler revamp will see the "death" of FD in PvP (heh), I would much rather see its use continue relatively as is, with a mere 2 adjustments: Use of FD should count as death for Jedi, use of FD should count as death for BH, for the purposes of Jedi Bounties.

FD is a smuggler skill not a jedi or BH skill, it is bad enough they are the reason it will be nerfed why would you change the skill of a profession to fit the needs to of 2 different professions? FD needs to be moved into the master box to prevent peoplein other professions from abusing it. FD should have a chance of failure but when it does work you should be unattackable and lastly FD should be on a timer that is like FoW in TKA It would then be a skill that could only be used once an hour.

Just thought I'd mention. A couple of days ago there was a Live Event in Anchorhead, the one where they drop Lambda shuttles full of imps on the city. Well, I was prepared for the inevitable arrival of Imp players, and stripped down to my undies the minute the first disease hit me. I feigned, and went down, and waited out the disease/poison/TEF that was on me. I got back up, chased down the CM that poisoned me (by this time a doctor friend came and Anti-CM buffed me), used my revenge TEF to kill him dead
So Feign can successfully used if you play your cards right.
And to answer the question in the original post, no I don't report, I just strip down so they can't 0 condition my armor.

Forgive me, but I dont agree that FD needs to be moved, nor do I agree that we should ifgnore its abuse by others. It would still be possible for a BH with Investigation 3 only (needed to hunt Jedi) to gain Master Smuggler. As Smugglers dont take BH missions, and most arent Jedi, having a BH mission end because one of the parties FD'd would not be a nerf for us.

I have actually found FD quite useful in PvP.A moment that made me feel much like a smuggler was one night two of my friends and I were PvP'ing. 5 imps came, two of which were CM's. We managed to kill both CM's and one other guy, and it looked like we might have a chance. But one of my buddies died, and the other was bugged so he could not attack all of a sudden. Just then the imps jedi friend arrived, and the 3 imps that were left (including the jedi, an initiate) all attacked me, since my other buddy was bugged and unattackable. At near incap, i feigned. The jedi started calling me names (that I shall not repeat
) he turned his back and at that point I used Force of Will and got up. KD'd the jedi, and had his health down to about 45% before his friends jumped in and saved his arse. I died valiantly
So, when properly used and not exploited by either party, it is actually a useful skill. I do agree however that the best way to avoid exploit is to move it to the master box.

I say the master box not tostop people from dabbling but to force them to make more of an XPcommitment for the skill, the bottom line is it is a powerful skill why should it just be given away? Also if a BH/Jedi mission just ended because someone FD's there would be a giant grief issue and the skill would end up getting nurfed. The whole point of the hunt is to have some sort of true resolution (i.e. BH gets payed and jedi loses xp keeping the jedi population down or Bounty Hunter loses. FD removal of the mission takes all of that away). You end up with very, very upset jedi and very upset BH's none of which is good for the skill staying as is or even in game. Last point if you grant this to a jedi or BH and lets say the mission ends with the BH getting payed, the skillthen becomes exploitable. Jedi will never lose xp (xp lose is a main point for the hunt)and the BH will always get payed (2 players both friends, BH gets rich his jedi pal never loses xp), sorry but its a bad idea.

I use FD about 75% of the time when I PvP. Combined with FOW from TK it's the ultimate lure. FD has a VERY real place in PvP IMO
