I just found that I can slice a weapon, I tried on a looted metal staff. I did a 2% speed slice and the customisation level went to 20%. Is this the best that can be done or say if ur master smuggler and u do a speed slice u make a 4% speed slice with 20% customisation? Just want to see if its worth my while slicing the weapons Im crafting or will it ruin them?

First slice is 2% and adds 20% Customization. Next slice, however, would be 4% and only add 5% Customization (For Speed and Damage, at least)

Ummmmm totally incorrect.
First speed slice would give 2% off base speed and 20% custom, tier 2 slice would give a further 2% (total 4% on base spd) and add another 25% custom for a total of 45%.
Damage would be 20% + 20% for a total of 40% custom.
And to answer the original poster, the best slice you can do a 1004 is a 2% speed slice.

Have u tried reading it? Alot of it is out of date.
Although I found this and it doesnt answer my question specifically:
What does Slicing do to my weapon?
Increase Attack Speed:
This slice increases the attack speed of a weapon.
Order Total Bonus Customisation Rating
1 2% +20%
2 4% +25%
3 7% +25%
4 12% +30%
Note: The 'Total Bonus' column is just that, the total bonus the weapon has; each bonus does not add on to the next one above it.

That was not the question - what is the best tier one slice any smuggler can do? Put another way is there a difference between a master smuggler tier 1 speed slice and a 1004 smuggler tier 1 speed slice?

The best tier 1 slice any smuggler can do is a 2% speed slice which adds 20% customization to the weapon. Master Smuggler, Slicer, 0200 smuggler, it's all the same. There is no difference.

That WAS answered in the FAQ you quoted. What's listed is what can be done regardless of smuggler level. Only thing smuggler level does is limit what type of slice you can do, ALSO listed in the FAQ.

Apparently, you didn't realize there are three seperate collumns there, I'll personally seperate them with Red Vertical Bars "|" so you can tell each collumn appart.
Increase Attack Speed:
This slice increases the attack speed of a weapon.
Order|Total Bonus|Customisation Rating
1|2%|+20%
2|4%|+25%
3|7%|+25%
4|12%|+30%
Note: The 'Total Bonus' column is just that, the total bonus the weapon has; each bonus does not add on to the next one above it.
Now, the "Total Bonus" as you can see, which is different from the Customization Rating, is the "Total Bonus" to Damage, Speed, or Critical Chance that the weapon recieves. As is said in the note, the "Total Bonus" from one level to the next does not stack. That's why its called the "Total Bonus", because its the Total-Bonus recieved from slicing upon reaching that level.
Its like pressing down the accellerator in a car. The needle moving from twenty miles per hour to fourty miles per hour does not mean you are now traveling sixty miles per hour. It means you had to reach twenty miles per hour before you could reach fourty miles per hour. I do not know of a way to explain it any clearer than this.
I hope I used enough "Quotes".

You guys forgot to mention, that also, that it isn't the quality of the slice that your level prohibits, but how much you can slice something. Yes, a higher level smuggler could get up to a 5% speed slice, but also, he can add 2%'s (which this smuggler could have done on a fresh weapon) onto a highly sliced gun.

Then quote it because the quote I made did not explicitly answer my question, and if u dont want to answer my question in the smuggler forum from a noob smuggler then dont, Im not forcing u.
