Is it me or does the smuggler profession seem to be less appealing by the day?
I like the skills, I like the idea, but I cant stand seeing EVERYONE playing a smuggler.

There are SO many smugglers right now I just dont care to even work on the profession and am thinking of going Fencer instead.

What are the smugglers thoughts on this?

I dunno, I thought we were still in the minority compared to a lot of the other professions. I have to compete with more and more smugglers everyday but I don't think we're "trendy" yet.

Even if you completely master smuggler you still have 129 skill points to devote elsewhere. Explore another profession for awhile if you want.

I just hope all these bugs and complaints will turn off many people the way the hard pre-reqs for BH did. That way the most devoted will stick with smuggling, and we can finally get some use out of the stupid bugs.

I haven't seen a "trend" of smuggler wanna bes. It's just now we're beyond the power gamer phase of Elite/hybrid class reaching and the folks who play casually, or explore other career options are now making it to decision time. I mean come on? How many Bounty Hunter Novices (with Creature handler as well!) and creature handlers do you see, versus smugglers?

I guess thats true. Way more CH/BH's around. Only problem is, with the CH nerf how many will come to Smuggler?

Seeing as CH has none of the prereqs you need for smuggler I doubt many will.

Starsider is becoming insane with all the smugglers, I picked smuggler because not may people had it but i see more and more smugglers everyday, I have seen some of the lower levels payin 1000 creds for locked containers! And now people are asking for no profit on slicing weapons! I figure there should be a set number of smugglers in the galaxy before we become the next creature handlers! And I also think that we need to all come up with a price agreement that we don't go under for slicing weapons. that way newer smugglers don't ruin the buisness/profession for us by making our services worth less!

I say to you, do you want that sword sliced? How about some spice? Please, go be what you want, you can even be both, a smuggler and a fencer. Chose what you like, drop what you don't, there is no end to gaining skills if you keep dropping those you don't want.

I agree with the setting an "agreement" on prices with smugglers... Do you have any suggestions?

in all honesty I like the idea of a smuggler/Fencer/Medic setup. The problem I run into is with Smuggler and the way things are going it almost seems like a Merchant prof. Althought I guess I could just HUNT for locked containers on mobs that are known to drop them.

Ah yes ... the old pricefixing issue. You realise it is illegal in the real world?

You realize that whatever price you agree to, someone will still undercut you?

Pricefixing only works if everyone agrees to it. In other words, in an MMORPG it will never happen.

Give it up now before you waste any more effort.

My Idea is that we dont slice weapons for any less than 1k per weapon (or 1k per 10% increase whatever) or 1k per piece of armor. This seemsto be what most people are charging and seems pretty fair. I just hope we can get everyone to agree on this and need to think of a way to get people not to break away from "The smuggling code of honor"
I have presented it before and have gotten small backing if any so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, to make my point, how about this:

Whatever you guys agree on, I promise to offer slices at 100cr less.

Get it?
